Contractual Love

Chapter 5

Ai Yan's POV

Assistant Wei Lin opened the door for me once we stopped infront of the house. I can't imagine changing the front garden, let alone any way to make it more beautiful than it already is. He chuckled as he watched me stare at the surrounding, causing me to blush and look to the ground. Which only made him go from a small chuckle to full on laughter and my face was beyond heated. He led me to the doorway where an older woman stood before the rest of the staff.

"Madame, this is the head of staff here at the Mountain Lily Villa, Chu Hai."

"Nice to meet you.", I said with a slight smile.

She nodded and slightly bowed as we made our way into the house. Everything from the name to the decor was perfect. I don't think I could pick anything better. It was as if I had decorated it myself. The walls were light grey, with splashes of blue-green tones thrown into the decor elegantly.

"To the left is the kitchen, beyond the kitchen is the staff quarters. To out right is a sitting parlor, down the hall, first door on the right is a study belonging to the Young Master for while he is present, as well as, a library, a full bathroom, and a spare bedroom. Through the door next to the stairs, is a living room with a television. Oh, and the dining hall is through here and also connects to the kitchen. As, we follow through to the living room, there is a large sunroom with a variety of flowers as well as furniture, perfect for afternoon tea. There is a sliding door from there leading to another garden in the rear of the house. You also have access to another flight of stairs to privately access your sun room. From here, we can go directly to the second story. This room on the right is yours, complete with a master bath and a seating area. This floor also includes a dressing room fully stocked with styled looks, hair accessories, and make up items. Extra bedrooms, bathrooms, and another study are also located on this floor."

"This may take some time to learn"

"Ha, yes I suppose it is a lot to take in, but please feel free to explore any area of the villa except the locked office. Now why dont you rest a while. I will have Chu Hai bring your dinner up soon. You've had quite the eventful day."

I nodded before entering the room he said was mine. My jaw dropped. My family is well off, but this was another level. The room was my favoright shade of aqua, with white flower deatailing around the entire room. The bed was a massive canopy bed with correlating bedding identical to the wall, but reversed colors. I threw myself onto the bed, sinking into the mattress as I thought about my Baba. At least I know Ba's company is in good hands now and he need not worry about future troubles. Hopefully with the news of the financial crisis ending, he can take a much needed break to relax. Before I left, in the passed two months he only came home for the New Year just to leave again. He looked so burned out.

"Madame, dinner is ready. Are you ready to eat?"

"Yes, please."

She came into the room and set up a large array of dishes on a small table beside the sitting area before nodding and leaving. She did not even give me a chance to thank her before closing the door. Shark fin soup, bird's nest, dumplings, white rice, and ginseng all in one sitting. The portions are far more than I can possibly even eat. I turned on the tv to a drama to drown out the silence as I ate. It is strange not having Xue to accompany me for meals or at all anymore. After dinner, I went to take a shower before completing my bedtime routine. When I returned to the room to climb into the massive bed, all of the dishes had been taken away. Hmm, I suppose it is just me again. I took the phone out Wei Lin had given me to give Xue a call.

"I hope I am not interupting Miss Xue."

"Oh, Ai! Where are you? Madame Shu says you left us without a word and not to worry the Master."

"I am safe, but missing you greatly. It is lonely without you accompaning me."

"The same can be said for here, little one. I have accompanied you since you were born."

"How is Ba?"

"He is supposed to return home tomorrow, but does not know you are no longer with us."

"Tell him I am safe and will return to visit soon, will you?"

"Of course. He will be relieved to hear this."

"I hope so. I know you have an early day tomorrow. Sleep well."

"Thank you for calling Miss Ai."

"No formalities, please. You were like a second mother after her passing and her best friend prior."

After ending the call, I turned the tv up slightly, climbing to the middle of the bed before surrounding myself with the many pillows on the bed. Afterall as long as I run it by him and I am escorted by the villa guards, I can go home to visit everyone when Ba returns. Hopefully, tomorrow when he returns. Otherwise he will worry needlessly. I know Assistant Wei said she intended to auction off my virginity, but luckily they intervined. Therefore Young Master Ying, well my husband has saved me. Then, saved my Ba ontop of that. I will be sure not to disappoint him and strive to rise to any occassion he needs. Once I was snuggled in nice and tight, I felt myself falling in and out of sleep as my eyelids grew heavier. Surely, everything will be alright now.
