63 Kiria Kiria wandered in the dark emptiness, feeling like a blind woman. Panic threatened to claw up her throat. Bard could do this almost without thinking. Finally, she felt something, a shift in the air, a new essence. “Tesni!” she cried, wrapping the palace hallway around her again. She’d abandoned that setting after she determined it was too distracting. The blankness that followed focused her mind on the search, but also carved a hollow in her heart. She didn’t feel Bard anywhere. His absence weighed heavily on her.
