57 Belik The dull crackle of a Sentry slammed into Belik’s mind. It was like cutting off air. His eyes shot to Nedi, Shiro, and Enktuya, who stood nearby in the Main, and they confirmed his suspicions. All of them had Sentries. Shit. “How many others have Sentries?” he growled. “Find out.” Shiro disappeared to obey. Like a new wound distracts from a duller one, the Sentry removed his katah with Chetana. He hadn’t actively used it in years, but it festered in his mind, always a thought away from rekindling. Being so angry and yet having to be so careful had made him tense, always. That tension shifted now. The difference was slight, but it pushed some knowledge he hadn’t realized a moment ago into relief. Chetana was here. She was in the army marching against him.
