Isabella's eyes were red and swollen from crying too much. She saw Adam's car driving into the house. He didn't come to the house the next day after she caught him with Camilla. It was the second day after that night, but exactly like that night, it was evening. Despite all the pain she felt, Isabella had been waiting to see her husband again. She wanted to hate him and forget about their marriage that was dying but she couldn't forget about the Adam she had fallen in love with. She believes that she could bring him back.
"Let's start again," Isabella said after Adam had climbed the stairs leading to their room. She was waiting for him outside the room. "I'm ready to forgive you for cheating on me with Camilla. Adam..." She called out his name softly, "I want to save our marriage. I don't want the good memories we shared to die." Her happy memories with him were something that kept her strong, it was something that she treasured. "Stop seeing Camilla, let's give our relationship a try." Isabella tried to touch Adam's hands but he shifted away from her.
"It's a good thing that you found out," Adam revealed the document he was holding in one of his hands. His other hand was holding his suit. He threw the document on the floor close to Isabella. "Sign it. It's a divorce document." He said coldly. "I don't need your forgiveness Isabella, I didn't ask for it. I want you out of my life completely."
More tears came out of Isabella's eyes, "Are you doing this because of Camilla? Adam, don't you love me anymore?"
Adam's face hardens at Isabella's use of the word, love. "For years there has been no love in our marriage. I'm sick of you always acting like a saint who knows everything, always deciding about what you think is the right thing for us to do. You don't get to tell me what to do Isabella. Who are you to decide to save this damn marriage. Can't you see that you are suffocating me?! This isn't a marriage Isabella. I don't know what this is, but one thing that I'm sure of is that I want it to end."
"After everything," Isabella mumbled to herself. Her hand shaking out of fear and frustration. Her chest was heavy, something in her felt like it was about to explode. Then it did, and her frustration exploded, "You can't do this to me, Adam! I won't sign the divorce papers!" Isabella's voice was loud. She had never spoken to Adam so loudly before. She was always careful with what she did around him so that he wouldn't get irritated.
"How dare you raise your voice at me?" Adam asked in an intimidating tone. The cold glint in his eyes made Isabella coward away in fear as she took a step backward from him. "You are bad luck in my life Isabella, just look at the sort of man I have become after getting married to you. Before our marriage, a lot of things were working for me, but ever since you came into my house, a lot of things have been damaged. Do you know how hard it is for me to see you smile at me whenever I get home? You will ask me if there is a problem all the time because of my bad mood. Can't you see that you are the biggest problem in my life, Isabella?"
'please don't.' Isabella thought. Her lip quivered. She couldn't get the words out of her mouth. She was surprised by how much Adam hated her.
"Get out of my house," Adam ordered.
Isabella felt her insides twisting in the hope that she didn't hear those dreadful words from Adam's mouth, but then he repeated his words, louder than the first time.
"I have no reason to share a roof with you. Pack your bags and leave my house right now!"
Isabella looks outside. It was dark, the moon had swallowed the sun, and the hot afternoon breeze had been replaced by a cold evening air. "This is also my house." She said with a little voice. "You can't do this to me." Her voice became slightly louder.
"Did you think that I'm the one who is going to leave my house for you?" Adam gave a dry sarcastic laugh, mocking Isabella. "I built this house with my hard-earned money. I didn't receive even a cent from you, so don't open your mouth and call my house yours." Adam went to the room, "since you aren't ready to pack, I'm going to help you pack your miserable things out of my house."
'I have nowhere to go.' Isabella thought when she saw Adam drag out her luggage. Some of her clothes were spilled all over the floor.
"Adam," Isabella called out softly. 'He is angry and not thinking reasonably, I'm sure that he doesn't want to drive me out of the house. He just needs to calm down.' she thought. "It's late. Even if you want me out, I can't find a place to stay by this time of the night. Let's just calm down and talk about this tomorrow morning."
Adam threw Isabella's luggage down the staircase. "I don't care about how late it's. Find a cheap hotel or something. Oh wait do you even have any money?" He mocks. "Early this morning, I blocked all your credit cards. I'm not surprised that a no-brain woman like you didn't notice. Tell me how much you will need to find a cheap hotel for the night." Adam opened his wallet and brought out a few cash. With his hand raised in the air, he asked, "Will this be enough, or do you want more?" He threw the money on Isabella's face brought out more money from his wallet and threw it again on her face. "This is the least I can do for an ex-wife. What is with the clueless look on your face?" He sneers at Isabella who is still unable to move.
Adam took the divorce papers, brought out a pen, and forced Isabella to sign. Isabella signed the papers with shaky hands, as one of her tears dropped on the paper. Adam dragged Isabella and her luggage outside the door of his mansion and locked the house gates against her. "You are nothing but an ugly poor girl with no talent, to think I made someone like you my wife. Don't come back here Isabella."
