Elara’s POV
As soon as I returned home I went straight into my parents' room. The door was slightly open so I did not bother to knock.
“Mum, Dad I have a question to ask you both”
“Sure, honey, go ahead,” my mum said. Then I removed the necklace from my neck and showed it to them. “Has this necklace done anything funny before?”
“Funny as how?” my dad asked
“Well, like glowing. Cause it doesn't look like what has a battery in it. It even feels like a stone”
“Ohh yeah, there were times it'll randomly start glowing and you'd be frightened by it. So we took it off and kept it. You don't remember?” my mother asked me looking concerned.
Honestly, I couldn't recall anything like that but I just told her that it slipped my mind. As I was about to leave the room my father's voice made me halt.
“And where do you think you're going to young lady? You having the necklace means you were in my office I hope you did not scatter or help me rearrange anything.”
“No Dad I didn't disorganize anything.” After saying this I left their room immediately, before another topic would be brought up.
When I got into my room, I planned on sleeping but my whole being knew I needed to work. I also have some schoolwork to finish up. I’m hungry and sleepy. So I chose to work first, eat while doing my schoolwork then I slept off.
By the time I woke up, it was already a school day. We are getting close to the school holidays and I can’t wait, basically, that’s one of the reasons why I haven’t been in my dorm on campus for a long while. I don’t know why my parents paid for it when they know I prefer being at home, I feel it has something to do with my socializing and meeting new people. The house seemed unusually quiet and I went to check why. My brother was still sleeping, my father was nowhere in the house probably gone to work early and my mother was with my baby sister in the kitchen.
Since it was very early I went to sleep again for a while. It didn't take long after I saw myself in the forest. It was all misty and dark, and it felt so real. I should have been scared but I wasn't, I was only confused as to where I was. I heard footsteps and I saw a really young lady running like something was after her, I tried running and looking for where to hide but this woman was fast she caught up with me and the weird thing was that she ran through me like I was a ghost, instead of bumping into each other. At this point, I stood in disbelief and I waited for a while to see who was chasing the lady but I saw no one. I followed the lady’s tracks and from a distance I saw her entering a wooden cabin, but before entering I noticed something around her neck glowing then when she entered she shut the door of the cabin, and it disappeared and I woke up immediately. I woke up in a pool of sweat and I quickly looked at my necklace on my neck and it was glowing. This left me puzzled, I never watched any movie that seemed like that or had that type of scenario and it all felt too real. Then I recalled having a dream like this but I couldn't remember anything even when I tried to. I got up once again but this time to freshen up and go to school. I had to remove my necklace and place it in my bag because I don't know if it will act out again. I don't even want to go to school today but this assignment that I had to do the previous day, I must submit it and gain my extra credit.
Honestly, I can't wait for the holidays to begin so I can resume my dance lessons.
On getting to school early I sat in my usual spot in class, the class was getting filled up with students but I didn't see Lucien anywhere, even when the class had begun Lucien never showed up. I hope he's fine. All my thoughts for the day were just about Lucien and the dream I had that didn't feel like a dream in any way.
Lucien’s POV
I couldn't possibly have stayed back at her place. Maybe some other time.
I just panicked and there were a lot of what-ifs going through my mind. What if it'll be all awkward, what if she might get to know what I truly am and I know for a fact she is not yet ready for the truth.
I went back into my world and headed home.
I got home to still meet the same scene, thinking the girl my mother brought would have gone back to wherever she came from. Lilith is a beautiful young lady but I do not yearn for her and my mother doesn't seem to understand that.
I went straight to my room ignoring the scene before me, but I met my room filled with boxes if someone was moving into my room and everything had Lilith's scent all over.
“Mother!!!” She ran immediately to my room when I shouted her name.
“Care to explain what is going on here?”
“As your mate, Lilith is moving in as soon as possible.” my mother said sounding unbothered
“Mother we know fully well she is not my mate and will never be and I'm not hers, so why are you rushing and forcing things? Lilith can not stay in this room unless you don't want me under your roof anymore”
My mother looked defeated and she called the servants to come take Lilith’s belongings to another room. I was still very much furious and in disbelief because I didn't know why my mother was taking this very seriously. We have other rising matters to deal with like the foretold awaiting doom but she is just so hung up on me having a mate. I whispered a silent prayer to Kali, the mother of endings to guide me through this dark storm.
After being alone for a while Troy comes in trying to give me some advice on what to do. His advice is risky but I’m willing to take it all just to be united with my love Elara Veyne.
