Chapter 6

1292 Words
Elara’s POV We have arrived at the orphanage home and I honestly it was a long drive. “Rose when going back you're driving” and Rose nodded in agreement. I found a parking spot and parked there. It was very easy to find a suitable spot because everywhere looked empty. After successfully parking, we got out of the car and headed into the building. I honestly can not remember everything or if there is a difference in the building’s structure. The only thing I can recall or remember is the prayers. To me, it was more of a covenant than an orphanage home. I can't fully explain how I felt on entering the building. Then I saw a reverend sister and walked up to her with Rose following behind. We both exchanged pleasantries and I told her about my visitation, then she led Rose and me into an office and asked us to wait and we would be attended to. I was nervous and I didn’t know what to expect, or will I even be recognized? I had lots of thoughts going on in my head. Another reverend sister walked into the office shutting the door behind her, she looked much older than the first one we had seen when we came in. I exchanged pleasantries again and told her the reason for my visit. She asked for my name before going to a big old shelf searching for a file, but then she turned back staring a lot at my neck and just said with such emotion I can't explain “Ohhh my child you are Elara” This sister came back to her seat leaving whatever she was searching for and said that the necklace is unforgettable and one of a kind, but unfortunately, she said she did not also meet my mother or father because of how I was brought in. I felt really down because I had my hopes up today. I and Rose just decided to tour around for a while and we were granted access cause it was once my home. It's so sad that this number of kids do not have biological parents but the positive part is that this orphanage home does not in any way make any child feel that void that comes with being an orphan. After a little tour around I made a little donation, then left with Rose back to Elkins. Lucien’s POV After much meditation, I decided to go back to work. No one knows that I write books I had to use a fake author's name and not my real identity. Here in the supernatural world majorly everything about humans is seen as a weakness but I see it as cultural differences. I'm surprised but glad technology does work in this realm. We don't use anything like phones or the Internet but I write and post. I just do things for the love of it. Unfortunately, I found no inspiration. After a while I decided to take a walk outside, maybe it would help but all I could think of was Elara, Elara Veyne. I put my hand on my forehead, using my fingers to massage it to ease mental stress but then I felt my mother's presence with another scent I picked up. I swiftly turned around to face them both with my arms folded. “Lucien D’Amarond, I'm glad you are not sulking and locking yourself up in a room” my mother said while walking towards me with a young woman following her. “Lucien, meet Lilith. Lilith meet my son Lucien” I shook her hands as a sign of respect, then I faced my mother and asked why she was brought to our home. “She is your mate.” As these words rolled off my mother’s tongue my eyes widened in disbelief. “Mother, we both know she is not my mate. What exactly is your motive?” “Lucien you need to announce her as your mate if not I will do it myself.” I was left speechless, my mother continued talking but I just zoned out and got disinterested in whatever thing she was saying. When her lips stopped moving I left her presence. What scares me the most is the fact that there is no law against marrying whosoever is not mated to you, because some people die before ever getting to know their mate and many don't wait to be rebounded with another by the goddess, they just take action. I can never be with someone else now that I have found my mate. I have waited so long and I won't let her go. I need to do something about this. I got back into the castle and unfortunately crossed paths with my father. He intentionally blocked my way grabbing me swiftly cause of how fast I was going. “Lucien hold up. Have you spoken to your mother?” “Yes” “She seems very worried about you” I just responded with “I know” and left because I was still very much upset about the decision my mother is trying to impose on me. I am not a child anymore and she still thinks she can make decisions for me. I got to my room closed my eyes and started calming myself about possible positive outcomes. “Troy I know you're in here.” after saying this he got up from where he was hiding. “Why were you hiding?” “You seemed angry when you came in and you know how bad your anger can be. I don’t want to be a victim” after Troy saying this he still seemed a bit uneasy but I just ignored, I have other things to worry about. Maybe if I see Elara again i’d feel better. So I went to the human realm and went straight to Elara’s place. I got to her home and it looks like no one is around. Should I wait for her or should I just go back? I stood at her door for a while before the thought of her not being aware of me knowing where she lives crossed my mind, I'd seem like a creep and I do not want to scare her away, so I decided to leave. I had already walked like three to four blocks away from her home before a car slowed down and my eyes and those of Elara’s stared right back into each other and she smiled, gosh her smile is to die for. Then she quickly signaled the person who was driving to stop. She came down and the more she approached me, the more my heart rate increased. “Hi Lucien” she said with a cheerful smile. I just love the way she pronounced my name. “Hey, how are you?” “Good, good just stepped out for a bit. Do you live around here cause my place isn't far from here too” she said still with her beautiful innocent smile on her face. “Ohhh that's really nice but I don't live around here” I responded. I felt a lot better just being with her. No matter how short our meetings are I cherish them all. “Would you like to stay for a while Lucien?” “Oh that would be really nice but unfortunately I have things to sort out at home.” Then I left her and her friend and continued to walk. I’ve made up my mind, Elara will one day sooner or later come with me to the realm of my kind. She is my mate so she has every right to be there.
