CHAPTER 12: GO BACK HOME

Lena was really relieved, at this time, she even remembered she hasn't eaten anything since morning. " Oh, I'm f*****g hungry, I will heat the food, are you hungry?" She was just asking for formalities or to ease the mood. She knows he doesn't look like someone who had lunch. He had been looking for her the whole day, where would he even find time to feel hungry.?

They worked together in the kitchen, had the simple dishes that Angela had prepared, washed the dishes and waited for Angela to come back. "That's like it" Lena could not believe it. " Seriously Angie, how could you forget to carry your manners? Don't you atleast know how to knock?"Lena was really embarrassed because they were caught kissing in the living room. Angela feigned ignorance and snapped back playfully, " Yeah, sorry guys, I was in a hurry to live the house for certain couple to make up, so ...I forgot to take my manners with me." The man beside her pretended as if he was not here, leaving everything for Lena to handle. One thing he noticed though, the girls are genuine friends.

He got up with Lena in his arms, gave Angela a smile and said politely, " Thanks for today Angela, I will take Lena so she can rest, good night. " And he strode out before she even answered. He took Lena to his house and upon entering, the house help came forward with a panicked expression, " Boss, someone has been waiting for you since noon" He impatiently glanced over the sofa and got a glimpse of an important person, he decided to finish this off today itself. He walked over, tightening his grip on Lena's wrist who was struggling to free herself. "How can I help you Shantel? Why are you here? " He asked her irritably.

Shantel pretended to be oblivious to how angry he is right now. " Oh, my Leo, I have been waiting for you the whole day, I even went to your company but they said you are busy somewhere, do you work the whole day without even looking at time? Do you even get time for yourself? oh Le....."

" Shut up, answer my question, why are here?" Shantel was so startled that she jumped like a little kitten. She stuttered... I wa...was.....l....was loo..ki..ng for yo...."

" Get out right now " Shantel's illusion had overcome her that she never thought that Leo is no more a boy but a man , she has never accepted the fact that he moved on from her.

Shantel looked up and noticed Lena beside Leo. She decided to use her tactics, she can't let Lena see her this way, "Leo why are you doing this to me , you know I'm in love with you, can we go back to the old sweet days and be the sweet sweethearts that we were a..." But Leo would not let her finish, he shouted at her, " Shantel Thomas! Get the hell out of my house, now."He was seething in anger., but Shantel was adamant, she won't budge. I'm not going anywhere I'm here to stay, get used to it? You will eventually love me. "She took her handbag and swung her waist and her legs in her high heels heading to the bedroom, Lena could not hold on anymore, " Hold it right there, where do you think you are going?"Lena's voice resounded through the living room halting the arrogant woman on the move.

Shantel stopped with a little unnoticed shake. She looked at Lena , sneered and asked her with disdain in her voice, " Who are you to stop me? Look at your miserable life, and why are you here anyway? " Lena walked slowly upto her with her hands folded on her chest, " Whom am I? And why am I here? Don't you know you're trespassing? " She said pointing at the direction, " That's my bedroom and I'm Leo's wife.Do you mind enlighting me on your identity because I didn't know Leo had a sister" Shantel gave out a low sarcastic laugh and asked, "You? Leo's wife? Dream on." Lena turned to look at Leo who was smiling in admiration of what his woman just declared, looked at her lovingly and hugged her from behind, he echoed her words "Yes, we got married two months ago, is there a problem miss Shantel?" But Shantel could not here any of that, her mission was not over yet, " Yes, there is a problem because the last time I checked, we were a couple. " Leo and Lena looked at each other in amusement and burst out laughing. Leo started, " Did you hit your head somehow and got amnesia? or you are just in denial? Did you think I will not find love again? Dream on Shantel Thomas, dream on , but first get out we want to have a private moment for ourselves." Shantel was raging in anger , She stomped out of the house but not before she threatened Lena to watch her back and that she will be back. She felt humiliated by the both of them. Little did she know that she will wake up in America the next morning. " Just go back to your husband Shantel." Leo said to her and banged the door shut behind her.
