CHAPTER 8: WHO DID IT?

There was so much silence in the car. The two of them were silent but in so much thoughts. Lena had stopped shivering but the shock that came with the whole thing was evident on her face. She could not help but ask, " Leo, how did you know that I was in trouble?" He trembled inside and snapped out of his thoughts, replying without looking in her eyes, " I tried to call you several times but I could not get through, so I decided to check on you." He didn't expect her to ask such a question at all. He is just lucky that he could think quickly.

He tilted his head and asked, " Do you still feel numb or pain? Should I take you to the hospital?" He was still worried about her. "No, please take me to my house, I need a shower and a good sleep, and yes, I also need to do food hunting " She emphasized the last words jokingly.He only remembered now that she was trapped in there the whole day, and thus her stomach needs some fillings. " Okay, let's start with 'food hunting then."He was also starving, after running up and down the whole day searching for her, he had not remembered that he needed to eat, that was so out of his mind.

He diverted and entered a restaurant. They settled down and ordered what they wanted, they continued chit chatting while waiting for their meal. Lena remembered that she wanted to ask something before the waiter came for their order."Leo, whose were you driving just now,? I mean, I have never seen you with a car, you're always on foot." Leo started sweating on his palm, he could not help but rub them together to ease the embarrassment. He is going to lie to her again. He can't let her know the truth right now, the less she knows, the better for her, he convinced himself. " Oh, that's my friend's car. It's nice don't you think?" Lena didn't notice anything strange, so she nodded and said with determination, " Someday, I will have the same model."He decided to go with the floor and joked, " Dreams, huh? Don't worry, I will make sure you have plenty of them.?

At this moment, his phone rang, he excused himself and walked a distance from her. He asked coldly, "Who did it" His assistant was used to his coldness, so he didn't mind, he explained, "Sir, the CCTV was already messed with at the time of the incident incident, so we don't have evidence, but i know she won't get away with it the end but then, she will not be careful all the time." Leo clenched his fists to a ball, his voice hushed " Make sure she doesn't touch Lena anymore, assign secret people to keep an eye on her everytime even outside the school, Shantel will stop at nothing. They had dinner, and he insisted that she sleeps at his place. She didn't have energy to argue, so she agreed.

She woke up to the kissing of the warmth sunshine which emanated to the room through the window. She squinted to take a good look at her sorrounding only to find herself blushing at the sight of the handsome face of some man who is supposedly still asleep.' God, he is so handsome!!! I can easily mistake him for a girl.' She thought. "Seen enough?"She can't believe she was caught staring! "Aaaaah" She screamed and turned abruptly almost falling from the bed, but he was able to catch her on time. "I should get going, my class starts at 10am." She changed the topic. " I already asked a leave for you. You have 3 days rest, whatever happened at your college needs to be delt with first, I will never let that slide. So , sweetheart get a good rest." With that said he ran and hid in the bathroom, he was afraid she will ask questions which he wasn't ready to answer. She felt warm in her heart. She thought, ' How thoughtful?' The truth is, she was not ready to go back there. Only she knows what she went through in that washroom, she touched her cheeks, remembering the slap she got from a stranger yesterday, she can never connect the dot at all. She didn't know why she got slapped. When Leo calmed down, he opened the bathroom door slowly to check because he didn't hear any noise, but he was met with a woman in trance, She was so immersed in her thoughts that she didn't notice him until he called her name out startling her again. " Why are you lost? what are you thinking? tell me."

She took a deep breath and told him about that mysterious woman, who slapped her before she was locked inside the washroom yesterday. " I will look into it, don't think too much. Lets make some breakfast, Shall we?" That's exactly what she wants right now. " Sure she answered leaping out of the bed. They made breakfast, ate to their fullest and washed the dishes together chatting away happily. ' She is so easy to please ' He thought while ushering her out of the kitchen to the living room.
