CHAPTER 17: MY LUCKY CHARM

Leo turned to his assistant and ordered, "Book me a flight to US in three days time." Lawrence's eye brows furrowed but instantly smoothed them and answered, "Yes sir right away." Leo spun his office chair around when he remembered and added, " Find Lena's information and book hers too." Lawrence paused on hearing that and he smiled. Turning around he asked his boss, "It's introduction time huh? Mr. Hector is gonna burst with joy. He was so worried you know?" Leo could not help but smile on the thought of his grandparents smiling faces. He knows them well to know they are not going to question his choice.

There was so much to do to compensate the days he missed to work. And also, the coming week he knows he is gonna be absent too. He informed Lena at night when he went back, Lena got nervous with so much questions in her head. She don't know the kind of people she is going to meet. She didn't know their likes and deslikes, she basically don't know anything about meeting her boyfriend's guardians. " Relax, I'm sure you will enjoy their company, they are very cool people, don't panic unnecessarily." He assured her, hoping she will relax a bit, on the contrary, Lena didn't relax. The more he coerced her to relax the more restless she became.

The following day, Lena didn't have a class to attend, so she decided to roam around town in search of something or rather anything, she can take with her as a present. She had done some research and it says ; ' You might need to present a gift, to some families that makes you filial or something.' She had also researched on Leo's grandma, she used to visit kenya in her teenage years, those days, she could buy as many bangles and bracelets as possible. These bracelets, bangles and necklaces were from the maasai community. She decided to go for them, a collection of the maasai ornaments were brought back home by Lena, She hid them well in a well wrapped up gift box she bought separately. " Mmmh...what are you upto young lady?" Leo emerged from behind her startling her. She was hiding the gift from him and yet he sneaked in , is he stalking her? She turned around with a weird smile that could not be considered a smile and asked, "What are you talking about sweetheart? I was just arranging my things, is there a problem with that?" He shook his head and explained, " No, I saw you sneaking in like a thief, so I decided to follow you but I see it was only my imagination." Lena chuckled and tried to push him, " Okkkk...now that there is no thief here please lets go to bed it's late already." She wanted him out of here before he screw her secret.

At night, Lena tossed and turned making him to worry. He asked her in the dark, Sweetie, what's wrong? you have turned like a hundred times already." She paused and asked, " Really!? I'm sorry Leo, but I can't sleep, anxiety is killing me. For one, I have to meet your grandparents. Two and most importantly, I have never been on a plane or anywhere near." Leo burst out laughing and asked between laughs, "You have never?" She felt ashamed and complained, " This is why I have never told you that, I knew you will laugh at me, see? mmmmm..." He stopped laughing and reached out to her kissed her unexpectedly and said, " Lena, give me the honor of being the first man on earth take you across the borders, would you?" She nodded her head shyly and buried face in the sheets.He reached out to pull her out and warned, " Don't do that again, you will suffocate." She stuck her tongue out playfully and reprimand him, " Stop looking at me that way then." He chuckled caressing her face and said to her seriously, " Lena, do you know that you are my ' lucky charm'? Ever since we started dating and living together, I have had good profits in my company, and something tells me it's because of you." He paused for some seconds and said, You should be mentally prepared, if my grandparents likes you, which I'm sure they Will, we will go to the civil office to get our marriage certificate. There is no discussions for that dear, so don't try arguing. I can't leave you to wolves out there, I will die of sorrow if you leave me. Sweetheart,good night and don't think too much, leave everything for me to handle okay?" The dumbfounded girl in his arms could only give a " mmh" She can't imagine he is talking marriage, and no discussions? God! Lena's mr. slumber snatched her away and she was giving out an even breathing, meaning she has passed out on her sleep.

Leo got out of bed slowly on his tiptoe, to his office. He wanted to finish up on some urgent papers before he hands his company to his trusted assistant for the time being until he comes back. He knows his assistant has always done an excellent job, after all he taught him everything. He must be excellent in what he does.

He only came back in the bedroom at around 5 am. Waking up the sleep head on the bed. Arriving at the airport, he knew he will need to guide the girl at his side in almost everything here, but he enjoyed doing so, after all she is his woman.
