Breaking The Border Marriage(Intermarriage)

CHAPTER 11: A MISUNDERSTANDING UNDERSTOOD

Lena was fidgeting with her hands nervously, under the sharp gaze from Leo. She gathered all the strength she had in her system and mocked, " Why are you here? Should not you be with your fiancee right now? Or, should I be honoured to have you here Mr. CEO of Raiply group of companies?" She felt like releasing all these, she was suffocating with all the information Shantel had poured out to her without Mercy. She didn't understand why he would behave like he should be the one angered here. He was the one with secrets, how can she call herself his girlfriend? She practically doesn't know him, Shantel was sooo right!!

Leo had immersed his hands in his pants pockets, moving close to her, slowly, not loosing his eye contact with her. He crouched down infront of her, took her soft hands in his big hands, he kissed them gently as if they are a delicate piece of a rare glass making Lena's heart to relax. He touched her cheeks tenderly, looking at her lovingly, he thought how he almost went crazy after loosing Contact with her today. Even his secret bodyguards didn't know how she escaped them. They just could not figure out where she went, he had to check with her closest friends. He wad angry because she kept to herself again and didn't bother to find him for explanation. But his anger dissipated because she didn't push him away either.

" My Lena," He started. " How can you break your promise to me so fast? You can't just believe some random lunatics okay sweetheart? whoever told you I'm her fiancee is a complete pycho. You are better than these Lena, " He paused and continued after adjusting himself by seating on the sofa but her hands still in his. " Why hasn't she come to me since she came to this country? She just went straight to you Lena and you are giving her strength by reacting to her nonsense. Don't entertain her. Help me fight for our love okay?" Lena was looking straight in his eyes and saw sincerity of his words, so she nodded. But she still needed answeres.

Leo explained to her the reality of things. " Shantel is a family friend, we practically grew up together, my dad was a Kenyan from nyanza, so was her mom. They had both married Americans. My dad was a live- in son- inlaw though. Because my mom was the only child and daughter of her parent's, my grand parents and the heir to their business empire. We were a happy family until an air crash happened one day when my parents were coming back from a business trip"... He paused, left some marked words and continued while trying to fight the tears in his eyes." There were no survivors " He said hurriedly as if he is hurying to avoid a plague.

" The plane they were in was a private plane, and was tempered with by some close family friend. Because of a business deal, I lost my parents just like that. " Lena felt a heavy lamb in her throat, She didn't know her man had suffered such a tragedy, she squeezed his hands to show emotions and he squeezed back understanding each other 's concern. He continued, " I had promised Shantel that I will marry her when we grow up.At the time of my parent's tragedy she in Germany for her studies. After I investigated and found that it was her father's doing, I sent him to jail with all the evidence. Shantel was not aware of that but I thought she will understand, but no, I was wrong. " He rubbed his paiful temple and continued, " Lena came to me forging innocence and understanding, even pretended to hate her father but it was only a play, an act to win my trust. I was the one in charge of the perfume empire my parents left."

"Shantel stole my company's perfume samples, added some allergic contents to the remaining....and.... I caught her red handed on bed in a hotel room with another man but she never regretted it at all. They got married, after ruining my company's reputation, we went bangrupt abruptly, all of these, her, and that man's fault." He stood up and got some water to drink then he came back, seated down, spread his legs a little and took lena between his legs and hugged her from behind. Then he continued, " I had a junior accout since I was young.I had not touched that for years, I told my grand parents of my plan to start another company in this country and they agreed. They supported my idea so I came to be the CEO of my own company here. That man had only wanted to use her, so after the benefits, he started mistreating her and the proud Lena divorced him.

When she heard of my success, she inquired and followed me here, especially after her informer mentioned you. But, she made sure not to show up infront of me, before she deals with you." He turned the trembling girl to face him and said seriously, you better tell me if she threatened you , believe me you, she doesn't care about others at all, she does what she says."

Lena saw reason and told him what she said about her family. She didn't want anything to befall her family because of her.

She turned to him and said " Leo, I'm really sorry about your parents. " He smiled and assured her, " Don't worry am fine, it's just that sometimes it's a bit difficult for me to talk about that incident. ButI'm fine really!" She nodded and asked again, " Mhhhh, what about the other lie? You never told me you are a CEO!"

"....."Leo...

He can't imagine she won't let that slide, so he said smiling, but I don't remember lying to you that I'm not a CEO."

" youuu..You..." words left Lena's lips and she could not refute anymore. " Okay, I understand now " They sealed their understanding with a long breathtaking kiss.
