Princess Dera had just returned from Afak kingdom looking sad as usual. She had avoided going to meet with her father who was seated on his throne and had headed straight to her chamber. Her mother saw her dodge the throne room and decided to go in and find out what the problem was with her only child.
When she walked in she met her seated and crying. Immediately Dera saw her mother she hid her face in the soft pillow in an attempt to hide her feelings.
"The Prince of Afak has annoyed my daughter again am I right? the mother asked as she sat close to her, holding up her hand and trying to remove her face from the pillow gently. Dera managed to clean her tears and raised up her face. Her eyes had become so red and she knew that her mother would not allow her be if she didn't explain the reason behind her tears. She sniffed and began to explain to her.
"Yes mother, the prince doesn't regard me. He doesn't respect me. He doesn't value me. I went to Afak; he didn't make me happy. He is brutal, rough and uncaring. I pray to one day forget him and my life back to me" said Dera with a teary and shaky voice. The mother comforted her and at night Dera refused to eat anything. She kept being moody and trying to recover from her experiences the day before.

In the kingdom of Afak, Prince Ope arrogantly entered his father's throne room with his wayward friends and sat on the throne carelessly, laughing. His friends sat aside and watched him.
"What do you think?" He asked them and none of them spoke.
"when I become king of Afak my lovely princess will come to this kingdom and kiss the back of my palm" he said and laughed again.
"It is not the princess who kisses the back of your palm but you who does so. Besides you haven't been kind to her all these while. What makes you think she will agree to marry you?" asked of the friends and the rest laughed. Prince Ope didn't find that funny and he asked the one who had spoken to leave this throne room. The king of Afak walked in with his officials and he was angered by Ope's lack of honor and he immediately ordered the palace guards to carry the Prince out of the throne room. The Prince struggled with the guards as they took him out. His friends bowed before the king and respectfully left the throne room. The king sat dejectedly and his followers followed suit. He did not say a word again for quite a long time before he cleared his throat and said in a dry voice, "If my son doesn't sit up to his responsibilities this throne will be vacant for ten years after my passing if that is how long it will take for him to sit up"
"No king has ever denied his son access to his throne, neither in life nor in death" cautioned one of the officials. The king struck his feet on the throne and kept gnashing his teeth.
"Calm yourself my lord" said one of them officials.
"How can I be calm when the princess of Vala kingdom had had series of things to complain to me about my son. What will I do with the throne if my son looses this wonderful woman who deliberately humbled herself for him" the king held his face in total dejection.

There is a werewolf in the land of Vala kingdom and he was not familiar yet with the way the humans conducted themselves. At first he thought he could take anything he came across and fancied. Most of the traders in the market of Vala hit him severally with their clubs before he learned his lessons and stopped touching what was not his. Several times he had gone to look for job opportunities but was turned down because the job offerers called him weird and refused him further introduction of himself. He laughed most of the times and only got the attention of most of the ladies of Vala kingdom. When the ladies neared him he would tell them he didn't understand what they wanted from him and if they touched him against his will he would sneak out of their midst and head his way.
On a fateful day he had gone to the palace of Vala to seek for cleaner job and met the princess seated at the outside gate and giving orders to the gatekeepers. The were wolf had gone closer to her to introduce himself. The guards with the princess had knocked him to the ground upon stretching his hand to the princess for a handshake. He had stood up, with smiles on his lips. Princess Dera had waited to see what he truly wanted and his handsomeness drew her attention. The werewolf decided to go away but the guards held him tighter.
"I want to be away from the lonely Princess" he said and the princess rose from the log of wood she had been sitting on and decided to know him better but he struggled away from the grips of the gate guards and headed off.
The princess watched him go and after a while she headed back to her chamber.

That night the princess decided to stop whatever she had with prince of Afak. she told this to her mother and the mother relayed this to the king of Vala, princess Dera's father. The king had called for the presence of his daughter and wanted to know if her decision this time was final or one of her offs and Ons but the princess had made up her mind and she didn't hesitate to let her father know this. The king dismissed her after encouraging her to find new means of happiness. The princess left her father's presence that night and headed back to her chamber, deciding again in her heart to get herself a pet the next day.

In the morning of the next day the princess headed to the market of Vala to purchase a pet and her friends had many pets to recommend for her. The handsome werewolf that had seen her at the palace gates the other time decided to turn into a beautiful wolf and await the princess's approach. When the princess's eyes caught the wolf at a corner of a house she was attracted to it and she inquired from the sellers of the pets in the market on who owned the wolf and if the wolf was for sale. None of the pet dealers could tell who owned the wolf and the princess dearly wanted the handsome wolf. She bent down and beckoned to it and to her surprise the wolf approached her and went into her spread arms. Princess Dera cuddled him passionately and decided she must go home with the wolf. She kept inquiring of the owner of the wolf to no avail and she left the market with the wolf.

Back home the wolf suddenly made the princess his friend and the princess could not do without him. She named him yummy and the King with his Queen were both happy with their daughter's new cheerful look. They provided the wolf with whatever he needed.
Back to Afak, Prince Ope could not believe that princess Dera could stay a week without rushing to Afak to see him. He became restless and decided to visit Vala.
On the day of the arrival of the Prince of Afak in the kingdom of Vala the princess refused to come out of her chamber to greet him. The Prince spoke at length with the king of Vala and was irritated with the fact that the king broke the news of his daughter's decision to stop whatever she was doing with the Prince. The Prince said he could not dumped by a woman and decided to force himself into princess Dera's chamber but fiercely hindered by the palace guards of Vala. The nearly beat him up and he started screaming on top of his, threatening to bring down the palace if the princes didn't come out to speak to him face to face. The princess while inside her chamber could not take the noise Prince Ope was making in her father's palace and so she dashed out with the angry look on her face. The Prince saw her and rushed to get hold of her but was hindered by the palace guards. The princess dismissed them and asked the Prince to come with her. The wolf came out of where he was nesting and followed the two royalties. They went into the palace garden and princess Dera began to talk. "You were disturbing the peace in the palace"
"I'm sorry I did that but you were refusing me access to you and what your father said, what was that? the Prince wanted to know.
"What my father said was right. It is over between us Ope" said the princess and this utterance got the attention of the wolf who was standing a stone throw from them.
