AIDAN POV "Congratulations Mr. Knight, I wish you a happy life." The man smiled at the handsome young one in front of him, who flashed a fake smile before answering, "Even though I am a bit sad over the fact that I missed my chance of being your father in law, My Girl would been so happy marrying a handsome man as you are." The old man laughed. TRUE. Aidan was handsome from the depth of his eyes to the gentle expressions of his voice, from his good build body to his stopped you in your tracks kinda face. It didn't help that he was successful, rich and smart it made the girls fall for him all the more. Despite all the opportunity that came his way he was a one-woman-man who prized genuineness and thoughtful conversation above lipstick and high-heels. But seems he was wrong. "Thank you, Mr. Dalton, thank you for coming." Aidan slightly bowed to the old man before walking toward his assistant who gave him a look. "Any news?" He whispered. The assistant nodded his head slowly, "I just get a call from officer Henry." The man whispered back. "It seems that Miss Anne already left the country." Aidan's eyes widened as anger thrummed through his veins. "WHAT?" He raised his voice by mistake making some faces turn toward him but he quickly faked a smile again and apologized before leaving the wedding hall toward the office followed by his assistant. When they entered the room, Aidan closed the door, "What did you said again?" "I am sorry sir." The assistant bowed. "Miss Anne was supposed to be here an hour ago, she told me this morning to pick her up from the salon at 2 am but she wasn't there when I arrived." The man added. Aidan tried to calm himself by sighing, "And leaving the country part was true?" The assistant nodded, "She left to Canada this morning." Aidan sat on the couch and cursed under his breath, "The powerful man, Aidan Knight was dumped by his fiance on the wedding day... What a nice headline." "Let me guess... Did she take the money with her?" Aidan laughed not because it was funny but because of how stupid he was believing her all this time, he should have been careful. The assistant nodded. The man sighed, "You can leave now." "What do you want me to do, Sir? About the wedding." The assistant said, "We can't keep all the guests waiting for so long... " "I said... Leave." Aidan glared at the man as a molten anger rolled through him. The door clicked closed after the assistant left, here was Aidan lost it all and throw away everything around him from books to vases causing a loud sound to be heard even outside the room. "Aidan?" Aidan looked toward the door when he heard his mother's voice from outside the door followed by a knock. "Are you inside? Is everything alright?" Jungkook swallowed down his frustration and sighed before walking toward the door, he opened it and get out to meet her, "Hello, mother." "What's happened inside?" She questioned and try to looked inside the room but Aidan closed the door. "Nothing to worry about." He smiled at her. "Hmmm Anyway." She rolled her eyes, "When will the wedding start? Your father and I have a flight to catch tonight." Before snapping at his mother, Aidan walked away ignoring her calling, he needed air, needed to breathe and get his calmness back to be able to face the guest with the news. The broken man headed to the rooftop where fresh air could be found and no human to bother him but those were just thoughts that disappear when he saw the woman in a snow-white dress on the floor crying. The hotel has two wedding halls so he figured she was the bride in the other, but what's she doing here? She runs away too? "Is it an international runaway bride day or something?" He couldn't help but to talk, his only chance to clear his mind was this quiet place which wasn't now. He leaned by the EXIT door looking at her. When she turned to face him, he regretted the tone he used. Though he never met her, he felt her pain from the look in her teary eyes. He knew she cried a lot and it's obviously not something simple considering the fact that a bride didn't mind ruining her white dress in the floor. HAILEY POV "Oh! I... I a-am sorry." The girl stood up holding her dress and bowed to him before looking at the door, not wanting to leave at all. The thoughts that were in your mind sound to get to him, "If you want to stay, I don't mind." Aidan stood up well making two steps toward you, your eyes now met. The obvious fact of you being a bride was shown because of your dress but that wasn't really helping you to realized it was his wedding too until he starts talking. "At what time is your wedding?" Aidan wondered briefly. "Ten minutes ago..." You let out something like a sigh trying as hard as you can not cry again. "Seems like it didn't go well for you too." The man smiled and looked away sighing, "My bride runaway somewhere... " Aidan's voice hardenedas he spoke and start walking toward the edge only to take a breath. As if you felt him inviting you, you followed him and did the same, looked up and took a deep breath, "Mine cheated..." "Oh!" Aidan looked at you, "What a day we chose." He chuckled in spite of himself. You couldn't help but chuckle at your life that soon will be pathetic in the eyes of everyone you know. You and the man you just met didn't talk after that, as if both of you knew silent is what you needed. (a few minutes later) "Oh God you're here..." The familiar voice of your cousin made your body shiver. "Everyone is waiting for you... Oh!" As both you and Aidan turned to see the young lady her eyes widened, "Oh My... Hailey, he is so handsome." The girl blushed as she checked Aidan out before hitting your arm playfully. "You know it's bad luck to see your fiance before the ceremony... " She rolled her eyes up to the right and made wide hand movements just as she's about to pontificate. "Hmm?" You blinked twice before realizing what she met. "Ahh No... " But it was too late, your cousin, Vanessa, was already all over the man. "So handsome my future brother in law." She smiled. "Vanessa that's not..." The girl ignored you as if you were saying nothing but a meaningless gibberish. "Since he is so handsome I get it why you wanted to see him." The girl winked before running away. "Hurry up we are waiting..." She disappeared. You painfully smiled before sighing, "I am so sorry, she is... well... existed." "Seems like she never met your fian... ex-fiance?" Aidan asked. "None of my family did." You smiled again. "Anyway, I could have thought of a better way but... It was nice meeting you." You bowed and turned your heel to leave the place and face your reality. You walked slowly then stopped when a man rushes in from the door almost bumping into you. "I am sorry, miss... " He bowed apologizing which what Aidan witnessed which made him come closer. "You okay, Hailey..." Aidan fished your name out of the fog of the conversation with your cousin. You nodded. "Sir... Your father... " The assistant looked at Aidan. "He went to the bride's waiting room, and he's asking question now. What should I do?" Aidan stressful state made him laugh. "You see Mr. West, this pretty bride lost her groom and I lost my bride in the same day and the same place... If this isn't the coincidence of the century." The curiosity was maybe the reason you didn't move and kept listening, or maybe it was something else. "She... " The new man looked at you then at Aidan. "Sir, you can't survive the badmouthing at this point of your career, being dumped at your own wedding is a perfect line for those reporters and competitors which the public never forget." As if he was talking to you or your state you spoke unknowingly, "I am sorry sir, but it's not like it's our fault or we can rent a partner just to avoid being pathetic." Your vision became blurry again and it was difficult for you to see clearly, so you just turned away. A solemn tear fell down your cheek, your body looked calm compared to how tangled your mind was until the man spoke again. "It might sound crazy but I have an idea to solve this... For both of you." Mr. West said. You and Aidan looked at him. "What is it?" Aidan asked. "Marry each other." * * * * * TO BE CONTINUED . . . .
