Sienna's POV:
I folded the drawing and put it back into Xavier's schoolbag.
"Xavier," I called him.
"Yeah?"
"Let me ask you. Do you want me to leave?"
Xavier's fingers paused for a moment.
But the video on his phone was still playing, and the sound was noisy.
He looked up and gave me a strange glance.
"Haven't you been saying every day that you were going to leave ever since Nina came back?"
When I heard that answer, the last bit of expectation in my heart disappeared completely.
I said nothing more and turned to go upstairs.
I pushed open the bedroom door, pulled open the bottom drawer, and took out that agreement.
I turned to the last page. The date written in that section was tomorrow.
I placed the agreement back into the document envelope, then put it on the bedside table.
