The only thing Trenton was used to was her silence, and it was the only reason he agreed to get married in the first place: Moraine was always obedient.
Trenton had never stepped into her room for five years, but Moraine remained silent. She didn't feel angry when he threw away the birthday gift she had prepared for a month. When he finally returned from his mission after half a year but didn't go to see her, she still didn't say anything even though she had always been worried about him.
"Wait!" But this time, Moraine suddenly seemed to wake up when Trenton was about to walk away like before. "Why? Why are you asking for a divorce now?"
They had been together for five years, and she thought he would be her partner for life.
"She's back." Trenton stood still without looking back.
Moraine trembled slightly. That woman had returned.
"Mr. Trenton..." Moraine's voice seemed to be stuck in her throat. That woman was back, so Moraine's sweet dream had come to an end.
But Trenton didn't know a lot of things.
He didn't know he kept calling Patricia's name when he slept with Moraine five years ago; he didn't realize Moraine had a crush on him for years; he didn't know Moraine had suppressed all her sorrow and anger just because he liked her obedience. But for Patricia...
Moraine suddenly didn't want to be silent anymore, and she couldn't be silent anymore.
Their five-year marriage and 4-year-old son didn't seem enough to compare to Patricia.
"I don't want to get a divorce. Mr. Trenton, I actually..."
"Ms. Summers." Trenton's deep voice rang out. His voice was rich and deep, without the slightest emotion. "I can bear five years of marriage, even if I had to marry a random woman. But Patricia is back, and I can't let her misunderstand me because of any woman."
Moraine suddenly felt dizzy.
"I hope you will leave within three days. If you keep bugging me, the consequence might be more severe than a divorce."
Then, Trenton left without looking back.
His tall figure still seemed dignified and upright, so perfect that it seemed to dazzle her. Moraine watched him stride away. His steady pace showed that he had not been affected by the end of his five-year marriage.
Trenton disappeared around the corner, and Moraine's eyes flickered like candles swaying in the wind. She lowered her head desperately when she could no longer see him.
"Ten years, Trenton. You will probably never know I have loved you for ten years." Moraine buried her head while trembling. "Longer than your admiration for Patricia."
"I thought I could warm your heart, but it was my wishful thinking. You were right. I should've changed all my illusions into stones." Moraine gradually raised her head, and her ashen eyes seemed to be lit up with the spirit of life. "Thank you for letting me go, Trenton."
"Mommy, are we going to run away from home?" A slender boy stood in the middle of a plain-colored bed. His calves were sunk in this expensive yet extremely soft bed, and his tiny figure made him seem even more delicate. His little round face wasn't as sculptural as Trenton's, but his movements were already filled with elegance, drawing everyone's attention.
His big jewel-like eyes were now combined with doubts on his face, making Moraine hesitate whether she should take Harry away.
Trenton wanted her to leave within three days, but it only took Moraine three seconds to understand that Trenton wouldn't love her even if she could live until eternity.
