Chapter Seven: Everything Changed **Lysa's POV** The palace had never been this quiet. It was strange. Just yesterday, every corridor had been filled with laughter, servants rushing from one place to another, and musicians preparing for the wedding feast. Now... The silence felt suffocating. It was as though the walls themselves were mourning. A gentle knock echoed from the other side of my bedroom door. "My Lady?" I didn't answer. Another knock followed. "My Lady... you've refused breakfast. At least have some tea." I buried my face deeper into the pillow. "I'm not hungry." "But you've eaten nothing since yesterday." "I said I'm not hungry." Silence. For a moment, I thought whoever it was had finally left. "My Lady," the maid spoke again carefully, "the Alpha's son has been outside your door for almost an hour." I froze. "What?" "He refuses to leave." I rolled my eyes dramatically. "Wonderful." The Moon Goddess must have a spectacular sense of humor. First she gave me a husband with two mates. Now she wouldn't even let me grieve in peace. I sat up and rubbed my temples. "If he starts reciting love speeches through the door, tell him I've suddenly gone deaf." The maid bit her lip, trying not to laugh. "My Lady..." "I'm serious." Another knock interrupted us. "Lyra." His voice. Just hearing it made my chest tighten. "Lyra, please." I looked toward the door but made no move to open it. "We need to talk." "No." "You deserve an explanation." "I deserve many things." Silence. Then I added, "But apparently I'm not getting any of them." The hallway became quiet again. "I know you're angry." "Oh, do you?" I laughed bitterly. "That's impressive. I thought you were too busy discovering surprise soulmates." Nothing. No reply. Good. Let him think about that. After several long moments, I finally heard his footsteps fade away. Only then did I breathe. ... The entire day crawled by. I tried reading. I couldn't. I tried sleeping. Impossible. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw the girl. Sophia. The way she'd looked at Ronan. The way he'd looked back. My stomach twisted. By evening, I couldn't bear the walls of my room any longer. I stepped out into the dimly lit corridor, hoping the cool night air would clear my head **. *** **Ronan's POV** I was so stressed out and tired from everything. I didn't ask for two mates, why was lyra acting like as if I've known I had another mate for a long time. That's when I saw her… Sophia. She was in her bedroom. Crying softly… The sight of that just broke my heart to pieces. My wolf urged me to go and find out what's wrong, she's still my mate after all "Sophia, what's wrong?" I asked. **** ***** ****** **** **Lyra's POV** "I can't believe this." I sat on the edge of my bed, twirling a loose strand of hair around my fingers. Three days… Three whole days since Ronan last spoke to me. I sighed, "I can't believe I'm saying this…" I slumped onto the bed. "…I actually miss that oversized wolf." I frowned. Maybe I overreacted. I sat up. I guess I'll go find his Royal grumpiness. I straightened my dress and walked to the palace. I checked the palace office but he wasn't there. I decided to go to his room. *** **Third Person POV** The door to Ronan's private chambers was slightly ajar. Lyra had come to see him, a bottle of wine in her hands. There was a playful smile on her lips. But the moment she pushed the door open, the smile died. Ronan had Sophia bent over the edge of the desk, her skirt above her waist and her lace panties dangling from one ankle. His body was pressed against her from behind, one hand fisted into her long dark hair, the other gripping her hip hard enough to leave bruises as he thrust into her with deep rhythmic strokes. "f**k, Sophia…" Ronan groaned, voice rough with lust. He pulled her hair, arching her back so he could drive even deeper. The wet obscene sound of his thick c**k slamming into her soaked p***y filled the room. Sophia moaned loudly, pushing back against him. Her breasts spilling out of her half-open blouse and bouncing with every thrust. Ronan's pace turned faster, sweat glistening on his bare chest. He was completely lost in her… Lyra stood frozen in the doorway, her heart pounding and shattering to pieces, unable to believe as Ronan f****d Sophia harder, his balls slapped rhythmically against her with every thrust. He was just about to c*m when his eyes suddenly locked on Lyra's across the room. Shock flashed across his face. He paused. "Well… I suppose she tripped and accidentally landed on my mate…" Lyra said as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. Neither of them spoke. "I see, I perfectly understand," he said. "Lyra, wait," he reached out for her. She stepped back before he could touch her. The room fell silent. "I hope," she whispered, "she's worth everything you're about to lose." Without waiting for an answer… She turned and walked out.
