‘Lexi. Baby. Please. Wake up. Squeeze my hand. Anything.’ Nate pleads.
I can hear Nate, I can feel him, I want to let him know I can hear him but I can’t open my eyes, I can’t move. My body feels so heavy. I try to stay awake but I’m so tired, everything goes black.
‘You need to wake up soon Lexi, mom has made so much food if you don’t wake up soon she’ll start forcing you’ He says.
I wish more than anything I could let him know I hear him, I’m here, everything is going black again.
I don’t know how many times I slip in and out of consciousness, every time I hear Nate, feel him, sense him. No matter how desperately I wish to wake I can’t stay awake long enough to tell him I’m awake.
