I put the phone down and run my hands over my face, exhausted. I had called every Alpha I knew asking them about the Silver Moon Pack and Lucien Stone and got nowhere. I couldn’t understand how a whole pack could be in the area and no one know about it.
I was on edge, I’d been on edge for days since Rachel had come over. I’m still p****d at her, only in that I didn’t trust my gut and push harder on her, but I know that would have gotten me nowhere, she’s too fragile. She was abused by her old pack, treated like a possession rather than a person.
Anger rises up in me to think of Alpha’s abusing their pack. We are supposed to protect our people, keep them from harm, not cause them harm.
