CHAPTER VI: PARALLEL HARMONIES (3)
Nicholas fell to the ground. His chest starts to bump inccessantly; heavy tears of pain and obelisk suffering began to scrutinize all the chaotic roots of the ceaseless caves. The shock of his spirit was falling apart. His body flared, faced with the toxicity of insurmountable pain. He touched his belly; he covered his eyes, while small uncontrollable bursts of greenish and incandescent light came out. The ancient beast looked at him puzzled; not knowing what to do, while the effect of the suffocating sound devoured the throat of the rushing warrior.
The cave began to fall apart. The buried columns were weakening. The deep swamp cave began to collapse, and the stones of a temple on the splinter of the fertile lands of the implored dominion of those beasts forgotten by their own lands were abandoned in the center of their ancestral chamber. The swamp then, lay still, the debris just gnawing at each other, before the disturbing silence.
Leyra woke up from a heavy gray nap. It rose among the highest citadels of its central palace. It was the big day. The grand ceremony eagerly awaited the shining steps of your beautiful intentions. Not yet ready in her mind, she opened her window, and provided the chant for hundreds and hundreds of people. Chanting her name; praising the name of the new nation. The Kingdom of Merdhen, was prosperous to be announced; the royal wedding was what he had waited for so many years, and it is what the woman had worked for, promised for her people and those neighboring provinces of the great government. The holiday was ready to be proclaimed.
Suddenly, someone knocked on his door; entering before she could get up to open it. The energy was intense, and invasive.
"Miss Leyra!" exclaims a young woman. “Ma'am is – it's the big day! Can you believe it? "
"In fact, I can't believe it, Tabatha," Leyra exclaims. "It seems like yesterday that we left for Thera."
"It seems that it was yesterday that we visited the villages of Nerea!" exclaims the woman. "Did I look at your balcony? There is Elisha's family! There is the community of Efraín! The cousins of Gregorio, the children of Durín! There are all those who heal my lady! "
"What about your mother?" exclaims Leyra. "Haven't you heard anything from the south?"
"Not from Idara, my lady." Exclaims the woman. “Nothing from Los Bombines. However, I understand that they would arrive today. "
"You talked to her?" exclaims Leyra.
“We have been speaking through the Corielle * Letters,” exclaims Tabatha. “Okay, but she is too old to come here, my lady. I just wished her the best of luck. "
"Oh," Leyra responds. "I was looking forward to seeing you."
"But the green gold boys are coming!" exclaims Tabatha. "Mrs. Frisea and Miss Carranza's grandchildren!"
"I'm glad." Responds Leyra, turning her gaze.
The woman approaches the nearby shelf where she would possess her beautiful mirror. She looked up at him, and delicately began to comb her hair. I notice that it lost its orange color. She noticed that it was fading back to greenish colors, as it had once been at the beginning of her southern forest paths.
"What's wrong my lady?" exclaims Tabatha. "She's not happy?"
"Yes I am," Leyra responds. "It's just - don't you miss southern Tabatha?"
“Sure my lady,” Tabatha exclaims, approaching the woman. “It's where we come from. It is where our origins are born. But life has led us to this beautiful mission. And it is clear that Elgoneth wanted you here.
"Stop the start of the new regime?" exclaims Leyra, doubtful.
"Ma'am, you are the new regime." Tabatha exclaims. “The peoples of the north have made it clear. We have not only saved our people from lethal disease, we have saved people from their disputes. Of her whims, of her fuss. We have unified the nation through a single symbol my lady. Through you. "
"Just look at them! Watch them dance! Watch them sing! " exclaims Tabatha. “Without her presence, this would never have been possible. Without her powers, they would never have been reconciled to hope. Without her voice, these provinces would never have been unified. It is a dream come true, it is a joint path for everyone. The provinces share their crops; the capital recognizes our village my lady. We bring you the best of our riches, and vice versa. This was impossible before you got here! My lady has really done it. Truly, she has fulfilled her destiny. With her mission. "
"But at the cost of what Tabatha?" exclaims Leyra. “At the expense of my family? At my brother's expense? "
A tear ran quickly over one of the eyes of the daughter of rivers. Tabatha hugged her tightly, without saying a word, before they suddenly came over her mind.
"I know her weight is ignored by those who cheer her on, including me," exclaims Tabatha. “But you yourself have told me that the wills of creation are alien to us. We are just instruments of light, and those mysteries that fill us with enigma, we must let them go. And you have done it my lady. You have had the courage to let go of these paths that were everything to you. And look at her now. Her energy enlightens the kingdom. And her eyes illuminate our walk. My lady is ready, even if she doesn't feel like she is. Now take those tears off yourself. Look straight ahead like you always have. Today you will be the Queen of the North and South of this nation. "
The young woman got up, and left the daughter of the rivers alone. Leyra closed the door, but after a few moments, she slipped through the interiors of the castle of the great government; soon to be yours by name and acclaim. Without anyone seeing her, she entered the high and hidden chapel. That one full of windows of colors and designs. The one where that companion who perjured to take care with his life once saw the departure, but who, by paths of destiny, now departed very far from hers. She climbed the wooden stairs, and prostrated herself on that window that looked out over the wide hills that led south. And so she contemplated her past, wondering, where were those she had left behind. Without her even knowing, if he was there, or he wasn't. She turned her gaze to the vicinity of her soon-to-be reign, she looked out over the eastern meadows, and after eight cycles, the carnations she had planted with those gardeners and farmers in the capital had finally blossomed. A simple, icy stream ran through his small side window, and though what he loved most now made him suffer, he had accepted the pearls left by his sacrifices. And so she understood; like beauties that emerge despite difficulties. Like miracles that sprout, above the pain, and its affliction.
