CHAPTER VI: PARALLEL HARMONIES (2)  Nicholas entered the mystery of the cave as slowly as it had insinuated itself. It descended step by step, into the innermost cavities of darkness. Its fire was losing heat, and that unnameable thing that it reflected between the scaly sands unfolded like a symbol of the hopelessness. Dozens of bodies dumped; covered by forgotten mold. Packed with frivolous and frivolous insects. Voices began to whisper in the forgotten labyrinth, calling the name of the chosen one in the most frivolous and frightening way than in his worst nightmares. "Who's there?!" Nicholas exclaims. But the incessant echoes of the carved delirium escaped singular, without any response. The young man began to walk through the marsh mucus. The pride of the untamed was beginning to seize him. It crossed by repeated roads. Through tunnels that not even the god of uncertainty would dare to cross; his impatience increased. Out of nowhere, hitting one of the nearby rocks, he foresaw a small, greenish light. The single bud was hidden between the edges of a rift made of dirt and mud. Nedev opened the door. The dirt and grime rumbled, and she drifted into a chamber, a floating mystery. A small greenish diamond, rotating on its axis. Illuminating the surroundings the place with a thin and mitigating mist. The young man raved in his eyes, as he had seen this energy before; only in your dreams. Alone in their skies. Alone in their hells. She decided to take her first steps towards him; the floor was sticky, and full of dirty and filthy water. He brought his hand towards the diamond, when suddenly a small movement shook the vicinity of the place. A strange being, flying like a huge, misshapen angel. Like an astral beast, projecting over the meddling little cave. Nicholás passed his right hand over the fire of his torch, and from his hand came another singular flame. The son of the mountains immediately placed himself in defense position, before the imposing power of a towering monster covered in mist and steam. "Who you are?" Nicholás asks. "Welcome, son of Ninnor." the creature responds. "You have reached where your dreams have hinted you to go, and yet you do not know how to recognize it." "I asked you a question!" Nicholás exclaims. "It is not important who I am, but who you say you are." exclaims the being. “You have interrupted my dreams with the awakening of yours. Now, you have arrived here. What do you want to be? " "I-I came because my intuition told me," Nicholás exclaims. “Not because my dreams have revealed it to me. I don't know what the hell is going on. I don't know the nature of all of you, and I don't really trust it. I came here to stand up, to the reason of my torment. Are you the one who won't let me sleep? Are you the one who has brought me here? " "Nedev, you have brought yourself here." responds being. “But if what you want to hear is that you are special to the ancestors of your ancestors, that is how you seem to be. But you are not the only one, nor the first. " "I'm only interested in knowing the throne." exclaims Nedev. "I'm only interested in getting what calls me." "Do you think you are the only one who has tried to enter these labyrinths?" exclaims the creature. “I have seen hundreds of men try. I've seen dozens of magicians try to capture it. I have seen thousands of chosen ones, try to dominate it. More none has succeeded. What makes you think that you should not go through the same misfortunes as those fallen bodies? " The man looked back, lit up the place and saw the fallen bodies. Dozens of weapons dropped, and hundreds of chilling bodies wasting away in the cavity. "Where is the throne?" exclaims Nedev. "He's in front of you." exclaims the being. "Is that the throne of the mountains?" exclaims of being. “It is not the throne of the mountains. It is the throne of all roots, and of all swamps. " The creature exclaims. “The green emerald was made for the sprouting of the oldest creatures you have ever walked. The region that was forgotten by Elgoneth, but that lies here submerged, on your feet. And it will not rise, until that worthy one is able to carry the energy of all of us. There we meet the day, which has promised us life. " "So why do you complicate things?" exclaims the being. "Why do you come alive those who try? Should it be the role in a guardian, be a murderer? " "This guardian does not murder anyone, young heir." exclaims the creature. “The chosen ones fall by themselves. The chosen choose death. Those called to be enhanced are the same ones who beg thirst for shame, when they realize that they are not capable. They choose the end, when they finish trying. The emerald consumes their stained hearts, and their ancient might cannot be inhabited in their spirit. " "So how do I know if I'm the one worthy?" Nicholás exclaims. "Nobody knows." exclaims the creature. "You must try, but all power has a price io. And that of the green regime, charges with the price of your spirit. " Nicholás put out the fire of his torch, and the fire gushing out from his right fist. The chamber was closed with greenish mists. The soft light was impregnated on the emerald; the man began to approach slowly, while his eyes tried to ignore the bodies lying on the implored water. He looked at the center of the emerald, and behind it, the disturbing face was blurred from the ghostly and misshapen specter, to which he returned his gaze. "What should I do with it?" Nicholás exclaims. “Some try to hold it; others try to usurp it. " exclaims the being. “Some run with it fleeing from me, and others use it to go to me and attack me. What will you do with it? It's your decision. What will he do with you? It is your decision. You have little time." Nicholás returned his gaze to the small crystal. He placed his trembling hand on the greenish energy, and looked at her one last time, seeing her reflection in him. The creature drew back, and subtly began to place its monstrosity in a defensive position; Nicholás could feel it’s warning, but without paying attention to the tragic power that was displayed behind him, he closed his eyes, and decided to swallow the emerald, before the cryptic look of bewilderment of the ancestral guardian. The beast had never seen anything like it before.
