DAY 10. AT SEA. MORNING. Abbey shrieked as she twisted and turned around the bends in the water-slide then hurtled into the pool. Her long honey-coloured hair was tied in a knot at the top of her head, so she trod water to keep it dry. This wasn’t a hair washing day. From the side of the pool, Martin watched her, smiling. She waved to him and breast-stroked across to where he sat, nursing a beer in the sun. ‘Are you coming in?’ she called. ‘Nah, I did thirty laps this morning.’ OMG he’s gorgeous, she thought. I want to take him home. But he wasn’t like most guys. He seemed to enjoy being with her, but you couldn’t pin him down. ‘Get me a drink.
