All I need to do

"What is your name?" "Liam." "Liam, as of now, you are the Gamma of this pack." He laughs and looks away, probably waiting for me to say it was a joke. But the moment he realized it wasn't... he looked at me as if I was crazy. "You're assigning me as a third just like that? No question asked... no testing my power... nothing at all?" "Nothing at all." "Is it my looks? I mean, I know I'm handsome, but still..." "Don't push it." I try sounding authoritarian, but a smile keeps dancing on my face. 'And here I thought we were going to get bored here...' -Ali Liam is playful. I like that. "Okay, okay... So tell me, Alpha, what's your name?" "As I said outside. My name is Luna." He stares at me for a moment and bursts into laughter. "You're joking, right?" "No." Seeing the seriousness on my face, Liam stops laughing, but I can tell he's barely holding it in. What is so funny about my name? "So... let me get this straight. You're an Alpha, and your name is Luna? Wow, that is--" "Controversary?" "I was gonna say ironic, but that works too..." He gets up and positions himself next to me, taking a serious face all of a sudden... "What is it that you are doing?" "My job, what else? I'm you're left hand, so my place is on your left." 'Responsabile too? Damn...' -Rhea 'You stole the words out of my mouth, girl.' -Ali 'I love him already...' -Rhea 'Me too.' -Ali I let others know that the Gamma was chosen so the next person could enter. Another man came inside, but after looking into his eyes, I dismissed him. "So this is all you do? Look at us and tell us if we're worthy of the position?" "That's fairly accurate, yes." "I don't know what you're doing, but my suspicion about good looks falls since you just dismissed the most popular boy in our pack. Damn... and here I was, getting my hopes up." I can't help but laugh at his silliness. 'Funny too... I like where this is going.' -Ali Others came, but none of them were Beta material. I saw no one enter the office anymore, so I decided to get out and see what was happening. "Why isn't anyone coming in? I have yet to choose the Beta." "Alpha, all of us already went to your office. You dismissed us all..." "Impossible. There has to be someone else." My instincts tell me the Beta is from this pack. And my instincts have never misled me. This man is lying. "I think only the omegas and the 'black sheep' remained. I didn't see them entering." Liam announces "Take me to them." "Sure thing, Alpha, follow me..." I started to follow him, but we didn't go far as Trevor began shouting at us. "You can't be serious! First, you put this useless pup as a third, and now you go to see the omegas to find a Beta? What kind of joke is this!" "Careful there. You're starting to get on my nerves. Also, Liam is now the Gamma of this pack, which means he's above you. You will show him the respect he deserves." Liam doesn't say anything but proceeds to show me where the omegas are. I can't believe this pack even has omegas. The term is so offensive. Werewolves invented it centuries ago as a way to distinguish the higher class from the ones they considered to be slaves. It's a derogatory word that infuriated my mother. My mother hasn't come to Earth since she rose to the Moon. But that word and the use of it caused her such anger that it made her come to Earth just so she could make it clear to all werewolves that such an insult to any of her children would not be tolerated. She banned the werewolves from ever taking a slave. And she ordered them to never use the word omega again. I cannot believe this pack so shamelessly ignored her order. The said omegas were cleaning the kitchen. There are four of them, a boy and three girls. They bow in respect as soon as they see me. "Rise." I step forward and look into their eyes. 'They don't fit the Beta position, but the boy will become the best warrior if trained. Also, I see a lot of potential in the redheaded girl. I believe she would make a great doctor.' -Ali. "None of you is fit for the Beta position, but you... I want you to become a warrior. Also, the redhead over there, I think you can become a great doctor. Would you like that?" They both look at me astonished, and the other two girls seem enthusiastic about them. "My name is Ash, and it will be my honor, Alpha!" "My name is Ariel, and I'm honored for this opportunity. I will not disappoint you, Alpha!" "Are you out of your f*****g mind?" I turn to look at Trevor, barely keeping my control. Of course, he has something to say... "You can't have a dirty omega as a warrior, let alone a doctor!" Dirty omega? He insulted me since I stepped into this territory, and now he has the audacity to insult my mother? "Enough! I've had enough of your foolishness already! From now on, you will take their place as omega. You will do all of their chores. You will do as you're told, or I will tear you apart limb by limb and serve you as food for animals. Do you understand me?" For a moment of anger, I almost exposed myself. I used command on him, and everyone fell to their knees. But thankfully, as I am now the Alpha, this command can be mistaken for an Alpha one. 'Calm down, Luna. Calm down...' I chant in my head, getting a hold of my fury. I turn my attention to the remaining girls, as I have yet to learn their names. "My name is Sasha. Alpha." "I'm Crystal, Alpha." "You don't need to address me by my status. My name is Luna. Also, you are no longer omegas. And if you don't wish to work in the kitchen anymore, that is fine with me. It is your choice." "Really? Thank you so much, Luna! But cooking is the only thing I'm good at, and I like it, so I will stay in the kitchen." "Well then, I cannot wait to taste your food, Crystal. I have a feeling your cooking is excellent." "The same goes for me, Alpha." "As you wish. Sasha, you are now in command of Trevor. And no more titles." "Yes...Luna." I was on my way to leave when I noticed Ash was a little tense. "Something wrong, Ash?" "No, Luna is just that...Ariel is my sister. And Crystal is my mate. Sasha become dear to us as well... and being alone with Trevor--" "You do not have to worry about them. No one will cause trouble. And if anyone dares to even try, they will face heavy consequences. Am I clear?" I say while raising my voice so that everyone will know I'm deadly serious about it. I hear a collective 'Yes, Alpha' and proceed to leave the kitchen, but Liam stops me. "Wait! Since they're not omegas anymore... maybe you could give them a room?" "A room? What do you mean?" "They live in the basement..." "What? This is absurd! What kind of Alpha was he? How can he treat his pack members like that?" I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself, but the more I learn about this pack, the more enraged it makes me feel. "Are there any more rooms available here in the packhouse? I'd rather have them close by." "There are, on the third floor." "Alright, you go and pick some empty rooms for yourselves. It is your choice which one you want. You can't let yourself be intimidated anymore. Especially you, Ash. You are soon to be a warrior. The head warrior based on the potential I see in you. Authority and strength are the basics of a warrior. Don't disappoint me." "I wouldn't dare, Luna." 'This pack needs some serious changes!' -Rhea. 'Yes, and we are going to make them. All at the right time.' Just as I was about to leave, someone entered the house. 'It's him! He's our Beta!' -Rhea "It appears I have found my Beta. I'm Luna, your new Alpha." "Drake... your new Beta, apparently."
