Chapter 78

Raymond's POV.

I continued trailing Stella's car till we got to a secluded area.

I stopped my car by the roadside and stared straight ahead at Stella's car.

Then I saw her stopping at a storehouse not too far from where I was.

Does that mean that Little Lucia is there? I thought.

I stayed in my car as I watched her go into the storehouse on foot.

After confirming that She's out of sight, I was about to get down from my car when I got a call.

It was from Rose's Number.

" Hello, Mrs. Romero. " I greeted.

" Hi, where are you now? " She enquired.

" I am near a storehouse in Cabot cove. "

" Oh, What about Stella? "

" Well, she just entered and I am just about to follow her when you called. " I replied.

" Oh, please take care, the backups are already on their way there. " She said.

" Alright, I'll thanks. "

" Hm.." I heard her sigh as the call got disconnected.

I took a deep breath before I got out of my car.

Suddenly a voice in my head started with a query.

" Why are you doing this, Raymond? "

" Hm, I just want to help out. "

" Really? How many people have you helped out in the past? "

" Not many but I think it's a good idea for someone to be there with Stella in this because we never know. "

" But why? Do you like her? Why do you want to suddenly help out a stranger? "

" She isn't a stranger! "

" Oh, she isn't? Who is she then? Why don't you enlighten me? "

" Gosh! Will you please stop it! " I screamed.

Then I realized how stupid I was.

It was an argument within me but oh well, I took it the wrong way.

" Oh, God! What's wrong with me? " I asked no one in particular.

I brought out my revolver from the car safe and hid it inside my clothes.

I couldn't take any risks at this stage.

Stella's POV.

I got to the address I was given and wasn't too Suprised to see that it was a storehouse.

Thinking of my only Daughter being locked up here made my heartache.

She doesn't deserve this treatment at all, she deserves better.

I felt like an incompetent mother, I wasn't able to protect my child.

Without thinking much, I took my purse and the Documents and went out of my car.

I locked it and kept my Keys in my purse before I walked towards the entrance of the storehouse.

I took a deep, calming breath before entering the store.

The room was full of cartoons and boxes containing goods.

The place was very dusty and dirty.

It looked like a dumpsite.

I was about to take a step further when I heard a voice ringing around the hall.

" Tsk, tsk, I thought you wouldn't come. "

I turned my head to the source of the voice and wasn't too Suprised to see Rick sitting on one of the boxes in the corner.

He was putting on a light blue shirt and Pants.

He had a lit cigarette in his hands as he spoke.

" Why wouldn't I come? Do you think I am like you who doesn't care much about his blood? "

" There there, I hope you aren't forgetting that you are in my custody, I could kill you now and no one would ever know what happened to you. "

" You wouldn't dare. " I replied confidently.

" So confident, I like it. " He replied with a hollow laugh.

Even I was a little Suprised at my sudden confidence.

My only daughter was in his custody so I was supposed to feel a little scared but I didn't at all.

" So where's my daughter? " I demanded, going straight to the point.

" Daughter? Who took your daughter? " He said in a teasing tone.

" I am not here to joke, Rick, I said where's my daughter! "

" Stop yelling! You've got no right to yell at me! Because believe it or not the life of you and your daughter are in my hands now. " He threatened.

" Okay, so where's my daughter. " I took a breath to calm myself down.

I need to focus, I shouldn't let my emotions be in Control now.

" Well, well well, your daughter is True with me but I thought we agreed on you coming here alone without bringing anyone along? "

" What do you mean? I didn't bring anyone along alright? I came here alone! "

" Are you sure? "

" Yes. "

" Bring him in. " Rick said waving his hands.

Almost immediately, Two giant-looking men walked in dragging a well-dressed Man into the room.

I was confused at first but when I saw the face of the man, I was stunned.

' What is he doing here? ' I thought.

" So? Are you still going to deny it? "

" But, I didn't bring him here! " I insisted.

" Really? So how is he here then? Or do you think I am stupid to not realize what's going on? " Rick roared.

" I ... ! "

" I came here out of my own will. " Raymond announced.

He at first wanted to keep quiet but he suddenly couldn't stand seeing Stella being blamed for something she knew nothing about.

" Why? " I asked him in shock.

Why would he follow me over here? We aren't even acquainted so why?

" Well,... " He trailed off as if not knowing what to say.

This only made Rick burn-in range.

He hated to be played for a fool.

" Since you didn't listen to me then you should forget about getting your daughter back. "

" What! Didn't I do as you said? " I protested.

" I don't care right now. "

" Terry, Close all the doors in this store don't let any of them get out" he ordered one of his men.

" Alright, boss. " The men replied as he then proceeded to do as his boss instructed.
