when Lucy got home opening the front door the sweet scent of something baking assaulted her senses
she traced the aroma to the kitchen and as she guessed she saw Adam busy baking a cake
wanting to surprise him she walked slowly and hugged his waist from behind
startled Adam almost jumped but recognizing the familiar scent he relaxed
" do you want me dead uh " Adam teased
" no way why " Lucy was confused
" you almost gave me a heart attack " Adam accused
" oh sorry I didn't mean to" she replied apologetically
" oh don't be sad I was just teasing you " Adam laughed to lighten the atmosphere but seeing Lucy unfazed made him worry as he pulled her into a tight hug
" what's wrong sweetie," he asked in a caring tone
" hmmm .... it's about Rose her relationship with Tony is not going well and it breaks my heart to see her in such a state " Lucy whispered sadly
'' Everything is gonna be alright don't worry too much " Adam assured
" right I am sorry I almost forgot that you were busy," Lucy said
" true you can head over to the dining table I will be there in ten minutes," Adam said
minutes later
the duo was eating their cake Lucy moaned when the cake melted in her mouth as always Adam's cooking was always amazing
Lucy was so glad to be blessed with such a wonderful life partner
Lucy consumed more than half of the whole cake Adam smiled watching her eating happily
after dinner, the duo cuddled on the bed as they soon fell asleep
while the duo was having a peaceful night Rose on the other hand was having a dreadful night her eyes were puffy and her hair was a mess due to continuous crying
Tony just broke up with her he said that he wants to go back to his ex and so their relationship couldn't continue
Rose was completely heartbroken she cried her heart out
thinking of Tony in another woman's arms almost made her suffocate
she continued to drench her pillows with tears
the next day she looked like a ghost even she couldn't recognize herself
she heard her phone ring seeing it was Lucy calling she picked it up
" Hello Rose how are you doing '' Lucy asked
" I.... am ....fine .... and you " Rose stuttered finding it impossible to lie to her best friend
hearing her Lucy was worried
" Rose what's wrong are you okay have you been crying, " Lucy asked
composing herself Rose replied " I am okay don't worry "
" no, you are not please tell me what's going on " Lucy pleaded
" I ... Tony broke up with me " Rose blurted out
" What !!! Lucy bellowed Even though she was guessing this would happen she never knew that it will be this soon she was really worried about Rose
" don't worry I'll be there in twenty minutes '' Lucy said and hung up
staring at her phone Lucy sighed she never expected something like this to happen to her best friend
meanwhile Rose was still in a daze she couldn't believe Tony dumped her just like that
didn't he love her or was he just playing her all this while she wondered
" why me why did this have to happen to me " she sobbed.
