Laura looked at Harriet through her tears. “I’m not doing it because…sniff-sniff…I’m frightened. I’m…sniff…doing it because I lo…sniff…love you.”
“In that case it’s beautiful,” said Harriet with noticeable emotion.
Laura felt Harriet gently stroke her head. “I really love you Laura.”
Harriet got on the floor and drew Laura into her arms. The two of them knelt together. Laura noticed that Harriet’s eyes were tearing up and Laura couldn’t help herself. Through her own tears, Laura gasped out, “I’m crying because I love you, and I’m sorry I hurt you.”
With a few tears rolling down her face, Harriet smiled at Laura and said, “I know you do sweetie.”
That word made Laura’s head spin and she felt her scalp tingling with pleasure.
