The trio turn toward the scientist who is holding a small device in his hand that resembles a box with a thin, long antenna sticking out of it. The device has miniscule buttons, and a big red button at the centre, it looks like something ripped out of one of the pages of Kuyt's storybooks.
They move closer to the scientist who waits till they are close enough to hear him without straining.
“Alpha,” he nods to acknowledge Zane’s presence formally and Zane reciprocates.
“How does this work?” Zane eagerly asks the inevitable question bothering everyone.
“We had to calibrate the device to vibrate at the frequency of the Sceptre, so it will trace it like some enhanced echo location which will emit waves throughout the world. It will bounce off-”
