What was the legend of Micai

4755 Words
All night long she was thinking and dreaming about her dad. She didn’t believe he was dead because she had faith, hope. Chelcee felt the presence of her father. She knew he was breathing alive on this earth as if he were there every day of her life. She had a picture of her dad on her laptop. She saw, and she realized he had Auburn hair, with the brightest green eyes. She wanted to know more about her father. She just found out that he was in the military. Soon she shut the lid of her laptop, stepped out of bed and went downstairs. There was no sound in the house. The town felt different, like it was some kind of mythical place. Her cell phone rang. As she looked at her screen, she saw it was her mother that was calling her. Hello, mom, Chelcee answered the phone. She had a feeling that her mother was not home. Her mom is probably trying to get a new job since she moved to this beautiful town. As she held the phone to her ear, she picked up her messenger bag. Before she could leave the house, she had to get some food and drinks to bring with her. "Hey, you sound like you just woke up," said Carol. She was sitting in the car at a red traffic light. She was headed to her interview, she applied to be an RN nurse. “I probably won’t be home later tonight. I just wanted to call to let you know, informed Carol. Okay mom, that’s fine with me, I love you, said Chelcee. She clicked hang up on her phone, and headed out the door. ]She made sure the front door was properly secured before heading to school. I unlocked my door and threw my bag in the passenger seat. Today I am currently nervous. It's a new town and the only people I know are my family. She held her car keys in her hand and walked towards her beautiful Camaro. Every time she starts her car, it always gets her going with excitement. She was dressed in leather skinny jeans with a black top that had a skull at the front. Her top looked torn as if it were made, and she wore ankle-high boots. She wore black leather half gloves that showed her fingers. I drive in town, looking left to right and trying to get familiar with this new town that we have just moved into. And see a few clubs I want to try as I pass by. As I stopped at the stop light, I got a message. “Ding”. “Unknown Number” “Just know I’m always watching, and here’s a little reminder: if I catch you letting someone touch what is mine, I'll turn their fingers into a necklace. And this is your only warning: do not piss me off because of the kind of monster I can turn into. But if you listened, I’d treat you so good” I rolled my eyes at this message. “Man, he really thinks I’ll obey him and the fact he thinks he can control what I do, f**k that”. I pulled into the parking lot of the High School and pulled into a parking space. I proceeded to type and my first response to him was because he had been blowing me up. Chelcee: Here’s the thing: you will never control me, especially a person that is too much of a p***y to show your face, you coward! Unknown: Excuse me Baby girl, do you want to say that again? Chelcee: No, I don't, because you can’t do anything to me and will proceed to live my life, especially from a psycho like you. Unknown: keep running your mouth, and we'll see how much I can do for you, and I’ll have you begging me to stop, but I won’t. So I’mma say this again. Do you want to go down that road? What the hell is his problem and the fact that he thinks I’ll never give in to him? Whatever game he is playing, he’ll lose at the end. Because two can play this game, and I will show him how challenging I can be. My music was blasting, and I was running late to school because I got lost there. And I decided to give him one last insulting message to him. Chelcee: f**k… You and you can burn in hell asshole Unknown: I see… so you're going to be a bad girl. Just keep it up. And when I do decide to pop up, you wish you didn’t, and we try to run. I'll grab you by your pretty little throat and let’s see if you’ll still run your mouth. Well, god-damn, he is intense and a bit unnerving. How can I stand up to him now when he is the definition of danger and control? And how can I run from that when he knows where I am? I didn’t respond to his last message and proceeded to find the main office. I got stopped by the security guard and he looked concerned. He was in his late thirties. He had a fresh scare on top of his hand, his hair was cut nicely into a fade. He stood 6’1 and weighed 150 pounds, and he had green eyes with a husky voice. “ Hello kiddo, you must be new, are you lost”, he asked. Actually I am, and I got lost on my way here, so I’m a bit late, I responded. That explains it. Well, I’ll be here for a while so you can refer to me as Mr. Hunter, he included. He shows me towards the office and opens the door for me. "He is giving me a dad kind of vibe, like has to be a dad. “We have a lost student, so she is a little late”, he informed. “ Thank you, Mr. Hunter, we got it from here," responded the administration lady. Hi sweetheart, I am Mrs. Perez, let me show you your class and here's your schedule, said Mrs. Perez. "Thank you and sorry for being late. "I missed a couple of turns on my way here, said Chelcee. "That’s alright, it happens especially for being new," said Mrs. Perez. As she walked me down to my next class, there was one seat left. She introduced me to the class and I became fidgety, especially all of this being all new to me. I gave a slight smile and fiddled with my fingers. “And this will be your teacher, this is Mr. Redmond, Announced Mrs. Perez. I smiled and walked down the middle roll with the only seat left. As Mr. Redmond started to teach his class when his back was turned. I got a message from the shadow that has been stalking me for years. Unknown: Got nothing else to say? So are you going to be a good girl or do I have to start punishing you when I eventually do decide to pop up in front of you? This mother fucker thinks he has power over me and I don’t have to respond to him, so instead of sending him words, I sent him the eye-rolling emoji. Unknown: I wouldn’t do that since you are on very thin ice Ms. Chelcee! Yelled Mr Redmond. My head snapped up and I looked at him. Yes Mr. Redmond, I responded. Were you paying attention? Just so I know who you were, can you tell me where Anne Frank was hiding and why the Germans were looking for her? Well s**t this is what I get for responding to a stalking and then getting busted by my damn teacher on my first day, way to Chelcee. Well umm, well you see, I stuttered. "Next time pay attention, and please place your phone on my desk so you can have it after class," said Mr. Redmond sternly. I proceeded to walk up to his desk and placed my phone onto the desk. And he repeated what he asked me and then told me the answer. “Anne Frank was hiding behind a hidden bookcase in her family's home and the reason was because she was Jewish and at that time they were choosing which jew lived and which didn’t. "The ones that lived were the ones that were experimented”, said Mr. Redmond. Well damn so gruesome, I declared. Mr. Redmond looked back at me without an expression and I couldn’t tell if there were any thoughts about what I said. “That’s how it used to be, the circle of life, and it can be extremely cruel”, Mr. Redmond explained. My heart dropped from those words because it was cold and harsh, something I was not expecting. I didn't respond, I just frowned and kept my thoughts to myself. I guess this is my life now. One: having stalkers since the age of seven. Two: having a cold-hearted teacher, and three: me causing chaos and going to clubs underaged. What the f**k is wrong with me? Like I mean, I used to be a good girl, but not anymore. I turned my head toward the window and looked into the hallway, seeing these men dressed in military uniforms, Army to be exact. But one of them looked so familiar. Wait, it can't be. No, he is supposed to be dead. I got up from my seat and proceeded to head toward the classroom door. "Chelcee, please take a seat. "They will be in here in a minute, said Mr. Redmond. I don’t argue, but I do listen. My father walks in first, he looks like he’s in his forties. And he looks at each child and introduces us to who he is, and then he stops like I have interrupted him. My heart is pounding as if it is going to burst out of my chest and run away. Dad, I questioned? I thought you were dead. He slowly walked down the aisle until he met me at my desk where I was sitting and squatted down at my level and his squad had never seen him like that. "I’m here now, little angel," said Micai. Tears rushed down my face and all of those emotions I thought I had locked away came rushing. And the f****d up part is, it was in front of the whole class, which was embarrassing. "It’s okay, I know it’s a lot to take in, but I had my reasons why I had your mother to you. "I was dead, he proceeded to explain. “I was protecting your children because of mine, because of how dangerous my job is”. “I get that, but it still hurts, Like I cried for you dad”! "I know you did, and it broke my heart every single time your mom would tell me and, trust me, she wanted to tell you the truth, but I had to remind her it was to protect you children from danger, he explained. I drove into my father's arms and I didn't want to let go. This was so emotional for me because the last time I saw him was when I was ten, and now I am seventeen. He gets up from where he was squatting to the front of the class again and begins to explain what he does. He was pacing back and forth so formally, and he seemed so different. He is cold towards others, unless it's his family and my Mom. But deep down, I know my mom and dad are hiding something dark and twisted from us kids, but knowing me I will eventually find out. I tried to see if I could read him and to see if he was lying, but I couldn’t tell. Just something deep down telling me something is off that he isn’t telling me. My right-hand finger starts tapping in a slow order. I usually do this if I'm really annoyed or anxious. The bell rings and I see my classmates start to get up to go for lunch, but before they could leave, Mr. Redmond reminds us to do an assessment for our homework for tonight, and it's due at the end of the week. I grabbed my backpack that was hanging on the back of my chair and headed out towards my car since I only have 4 classes here. My mind is constantly wondering about my father, because deep down there is something about him that no one is telling or, better yet, keeping from me. But tears are running down my face because I felt the betrayal that I could not comprehend. Like, why hide the fact that you are well indeed alive and have announced that you are dead? This is eating me alive. It’s like putting a hot rod through my heart and letting it burst. I need a distraction because this is too much. Lexi: Who was that in class? Chelcee: You don’t know? Think long and hard because once it clicks, it's gonna hurt like a b***h. Lexi: There’s ain’t no way that it's… Chelcee: That's what I thought, too, and I thought I knew our parents well enough. But they are hiding something from us, and I want to figure out what that is. Lexi: It’s Dad, isn’t it? Chelcee: Yes, and now I need to clear my mind. I put my phone down and drove to the club that Haylee and I were at the other day, because not only that I need a distraction, but also I feel there’s something about this place. There’s something dangerous and just not right. And, of course, I always have to play the part of the detective. I pulled into a parking space and looked down at the V.I.P. parking lot. There are only a few cars there, and expensive ones as well. But I could tell what kind they were. I grabbed my messenger bag that had my wallet in it and headed up to the bouncer, who was supposedly checking IDs. “Welcome back, Miss," he said. “Thank you”, I said. I gave him a slight, polite smile, and I walked into the club. I decided I'd go to the bar and just sit to observe. But once I did, I saw my father upstairs in the VIP section. If there is one thing I can do, it is read lips. He is on the phone with someone, as if he is gathering information, just as I am with him. I sip on my Dirty Dr. Pepper and just watched his every move. “ I know I messed up, I didn’t know they were going to move, and I also didn’t know my wife was doing research to find me”. I got even angrier. I was furious, but I sat back and just watched. “Really, Father”, I said angrily. Micai decided to lean over the railing and just look down as he spoke on the phone. “ I swear she doesn't know anything, she’s just a child”. I couldn't take it anymore. I stormed upstairs and, quite frankly, wanted to beat my father's ass. The security let me pass them as they remembered my face from the last time. “Dad! "Really, I knew you were hiding something”, I yelled. “So what the hell is going on?”, I demanded. “Angel, I can’t tell you that, and how the hell did you get past security? That’s because they remember me from last time. Well, if you don’t tell me, I’ll just find out on my own, and just know once I find out what I'm going on, it’ll be a train wreck. The stories that I know and the memories that I remember are totally different. The father who stands in front of me is no longer the father that I once knew. The father I knew would not betray or lie to me. This isn’t a way to protect me. In fact, he is doing the complete opposite. He just waits for me to find everything out, and I will not hold back what he has coming. Micai steps a little closer towards Chelcee, and with a facial expression. As he tries to reach out to her, she denies him from his hand touching her shoulder. His touch was like fire burning under my skin, and the heat inside my veins wanted to explode. "I have no clue what had gotten into me, but something about my father didn’t seem human anymore, like what is his secret? "And I could swear to be damned that I saw his eyes change as if he was trying to gain control. “Sweetheart, don’t you understand, I am only trying to protect you, He admits. No! This, This is not protecting. This is called being neglected, and the fact that you won’t let me in is so unreasonable, I sobbed. My voice breaks, and my vocals are breathless as I try to regain myself from this pain. “Like, how could you, Dad, if I should even call you that? Do you realize you had abandoned us? I needed you and you weren’t there! Where have you been the past nine years?! I would have understood if it was a year, maybe 3, but nine”. Sweetheart, please calm down. It is breaking my heart to see you in this kind of pain. Just breathe, he soothes. No Dad, I will not calm down, so please tell me the truth, I say. “ I think it’s best for you to leave and go home, please, honey”. I looked past him and sat there calm as day, sitting back on the sofa was a man. The same one I saw the last time I was here. He wasn’t just observing, he was seeing deep within. He was seeing the pain I spilled out on my father. But not only that, the way he was looking at me deepened like I was his new obsession, but I couldn’t tell since he was so expressionless, and I saw the coldness from those darkened eyes. Fine, you want me to leave, so be it, I shouted! I stormed downstairs, but before I left, I stopped at the bar. Bartender, I need three shots. The first one is the strongest vodka you have got, the second one is a ninja shot, and then the last one. Let's do the midnight vortex. I ordered. “Are you sure you can handle that, miss?” he asked. Do you doubt me? I joked. "No ma’am, I am not," he says. I started taking shot by shot, and then paid for what I ordered. I got up from my seat, but then I felt a hand on my shoulder and it pushed me back down to my seat. "What do you think you are doing, baby girl?" he asked sternly. The control and the dominance of his voice are something familiar. He wasn’t hurting me, but the pressure did enough to send the message. “Babygirl”, I repeated. I slowly turned my body and looked at him, and it was the same man from upstairs, but there was something dark about him. “What do you mean, what am I doing?” I asked. “Don’t play dumb, do you realize how dangerous it is to drink and drive?” he lectures. “And the point is, why does it have anything to do with you?”. He squeezes a little harder, just enough to make me softly whimper, and part of me thinks he’s enjoying this. “Because you are in my club, and another thing, you are underage, and because of that, you’ll get us shut down because you decided not to use your head”. Excuse me?! Who do you think you are, my f*****g babysitter, I shout. The look was terrifying, his slight smile and his eyes darkened, almost as if it were a warning. "I suggest you watch yourself, and this is the only warning you’ll get before I have you begging for mercy," he warns. He seemed so intense that it made my body stiffen, and his words were so haunting. “ Why do you care when you don’t know me?”. I began to stand up from my chair, but his strength was something different; but I could tell he was holding back a lot, like he was trying to be gentle with me. “Do…Not…Test..Me”. “ You can, and you won’t do anything to me, so you can shove your words up your ass”. That is strike one. Do you want to keep going? He threatens. "You are not my boss," I said. My words started to slur, and I started to feel a little tipsy. "That’s where you are wrong, especially if you are a minor," he said with a sly smile. “Ugh, fine, whatever, can I please just go home?”. He slightly loosens his grip now that he has me where he wants me. I looked past him and saw a man coming towards us. He stood 6’0 and was muscular with black hair with hazel eyes, and fair skin. I looked down at his hand where the burn mark of a scorpion lay. He is in his early thirties. And he leaned into the man's ear and whispered something I couldn't hear. He went from calm to angry in a heartbeat and then turned to me. “ Stay here and don’t move, I mean it”. I watched him walk up the staircase with so much control, as if he held all the control in the world. He had one of his newbies to watch me, but more liked to babysit me. Which had failed because he had easily gotten distracted by one of the girls there, who was also my sister. I giggled. Of course, Lexi would do something like that. I had my chance to slip away, which I did. I slid out the back door and into my beautiful car and drove like a bat out of hell. “Ding”. I got a message, and I grabbed my phone as I stopped at the red traffic light. Unknown: So I see you don’t like to listen, but that will change. Chelcee: What? Unknown: You will see me sometime next week, where I will reveal myself, and you will hope that you have behaved. Chelcee: You do not control me, nobody does, so you can get over yourself. Unknown: You won’t be saying that when I have you tied down while I’ll have you underneath me. I felt a flush in my cheeks, and I set my phone down as I didn’t have another response for him. Fighting him is getting harder and harder for me, especially with my stalker. I have to be insane if I give in to him, which I can’t. I pull into a library and I head inside, but this is not your regular library. This is the kind of library where you want to find information without needing to know, and you will remain anonymous. Since my father wants to play games and not tell me what the hell is going on, I will dig out the information. I headed down to the basement, which was like walking into an ancient castle. The steps and walls were made out of pure stone and brick, and each step I took echoed down. Once I reached the bottom of the basement, I looked wall to wall, top to bottom, filled with books and information. I searched for our last name, “Wolves”. I started to grab books and I saw drawings and a bunch or articles about my father. My father isn’t who he says he is, and as a child, I believed a lie. In the year 925 BC, Micai Wolves ruined a whole village and were the monsters that many civilians feared. He may look human at first, but once people let him get close, he becomes a monster and a killer. Only 40 civilians had survived the murder; Micai had become bloodthirsty, especially for the young. Some say he was not the age he has looked. He was originally born October 20th, 645 bc. Which in this case would have made him 280 years old at that time. Just by himself, he had taken armies until he had the humans make a contract of saying he wouldn’t kill anyone except for the opposite enemy once he had become the main leader of the military. But every ten years, he will have to go hibernating for his strength and also so he won’t lose control. And that right there had explained why my father disappeared. My father isn’t human, and in fact, what this is telling me he was a monster back in the day. This is going to end very badly, and so what does that make me? Am I even human? Because I can’t be like him, I will refuse. But how did he marry my mother, and how did he meet her? I opened an ancient book which had all the photos of my father over the years, and it’s nothing I have seen before. This man I am looking at is like a totally different man. This can’t be my father. No wonder he lied to us, and is this the reason why I am so entangled with danger? It has to be because I run towards it every single time. I started to read more, but this happened in the 1980s. April 1987 Micai has graduated from college over and over for more than a thousand years, but he decides he needs a mate to make him even stronger, rather than if it should be her choice or not. And he has weakened over the years since there are no bloodlines, and he has up to 30 years to complete this phase. He had spotted a beautiful brunette girl who was in her early twenties. She had blue eyes, was 5’5 and weighed around 130. At that time, she had no idea what Micai was; in her mind, she thought he was just a normal person, not some creature of the devil. He gained her trust just enough to keep her as his and only his. It took him 4 months, and then he told her to fall for him. She had a gift of seeing good in people, but sometimes it did not work out in the end. She knew deep down Micai was not normal, like something was off, and took a moment to separate herself from him just to discover who he really was. She was scared because of the thought of what he was capable of. And her knowing he had in the past taken out villages without having a single scratch. When she had the courage, she ran and tried her best to disappear without a trace. He tracks her down and becomes angry, and he forces her to marry her and mate with her without choice. I closed the book, and that was enough information I needed to know about my father. This was terrifying, not only because he had lied to me, but because he was a complete monster. I feel bad for my mother because of everything she had to go through with him. And now I know why he hasn’t been in my life for the last 9 years, and it wasn’t just because he was in the military, but because my mother was hiding us from him. My anger vanishes and is replaced with fear. But what does that make me? Am I like him, or am I both? I put the books back, and I headed out of the library. My heart is racing, and I can’t think straight. I sped down the highway, not knowing there was a car tailing my ass, but my anxiety was sky-high and I couldn’t control it. I glared in my rear mirror, seeing a luxury sports car on my ass.
