CHAPTER XThe minute that Pepillo was gone, I was ate up with curiosity to see what he would really do, if he actually dared to go right into the room where those cowpunchers and Rusty McArdle were having their high-jinx. I couldn’t very well follow him down the stairs and so look through the open doorway, so I did what Randal had suggested to me a little earlier.
