Chapter 3

1001 Words
Author POV The queen said that the chief and Noah would stay for two more weeks to discuss the issue with the wolves and then they would stay to celebrate the queen's birthday before they went home. The queen said that the chief and Noah could have three days to rest and think of ways to deal with the wolves. It has been three days since the chief arrived and they are holding the first meeting. Chief and Noah were the first to arrive at the meeting room. When the queen arrived, they stood to greet her but she smiled and said to sit. The queen asked if the chief or Noah had any ideas on how to deal with the wolves. The chief said that they should put up a fence to keep the wolves out of the village. Noah said that we should split the food with the wolves that way. Everyone gets food and the wolves leave the livestock alone. The queen agreed with Noah and said she wanted half of the food to go to the wolves and half to the villagers. The chief and Noah agreed with the queen's plan and said that they would set off the day after the birthday party. Noah’s POV We were heading to the meeting room to meet with the queen about the wolves. When we got to the meeting room, the queen wasn’t there, so the chief and I sat down to wait for her. When she arrived, the chief and I rose to greet her but the queen smiled at us and said to sit down. The queen asked if either of us had any ideas on how to deal with the wolves. The chief said that we should put up a fence around the village to keep the wolves out and I glared at him because the wolves only go into the village to get food because the village hunters go and kill all of the animals they see in the forest and the wolves have not hurt anyone before. After the chief was done talking, they turned to me and I said that we should split the food with the wolves. That way, everyone gets food and the wolves would leave the livestock alone. The queen agreed with me and said that we would split half the food the village gets with the wolves and half to the villagers and the queen said that she would tell all of the other villagers about the new law. The chief said thank you to the queen and then said that we would be going back to our village the day after her birthday party. I said that was okay as long as I was here to help her shift on her birthday, because the first time you shift, when you turn 19, it hurts like hell and, since she doesn't know she’s not human, it would freak her out and make her go insane without the comfort of her mate. It was the day of the party and I was staying as close to the queen as I could because she would shift at eight, so I had to get her away from all the people. I followed the queen to where the party would be held. When we got there, my mouth fell open. There were golden streamers in the trees and every seat had a pillow on it and a silver goblet sitting on the table beside a stack of three plates and a bowl on top. I was looking around and saw an empty table, wondering what it was for, when I heard the queen talking to the head guard telling him that when guests arrive, tell them if they have presents they go to the empty table. She also told them that once everyone was seated they would serve dinner and, once they were done eating, they removed the tables and started music, then they would dance or talk with each other. The party started at six and everyone arrived by six thirty and was seated. At six forty, all the food was served and everyone started to eat and it was done by seven thirty. Once the tables were moved away, everyone was asking the queen to dance with them. I almost growled at them and grabbed the queen, but I had to restrain myself. It was almost eight o'clock and I saw no sign of us getting away, but I could see the queen starting to hurt and go pale because she was starting to shift into her wolf. I had to find a way to get the queen away from all the people before she shifts completely. I spotted the present table that was full of gifts. It looked like it would not stand for too long. Then an idea popped into my head. I would knock it over and, while everyone was distracted, I would get the queen away from the party. I snuck away from the queen and knocked the table over and, as I thought, the guards came running and the guests looked to see what had happened. I ran back to the queen and picked her up and ran into the woods. She asked what I was doing. I told her everything was going to be okay and I would explain after she shifted into her wolf form. She asked what I meant by her wolf form and I said that she was a werewolf and a pureblood one at that. It was reaching eight o'clock, I set her down and said don’t fight it, just let it in. It will be painful since it’s your first time shifting. The queen did as I said and soon she was in her wolf form. Her wolf was at least 7’2 feet tall and was as white as the snow with golden eyes and a black circle on her forehead which was a sign of the pureblood royal family.
