Chapter 10After so much disquiet, to her surprise, Charlotte’s wedding day came and went without a hitch. No one in St. Mary’s Church seemed to notice that her mother was more emotional and animated than the bride, and the wedding breakfast at the Grenvilles’ spacious new residence was a noisy, happy family occasion. In no time, her trunks were hoisted onto the carriage, and after a tearful farewell from her mama, promising she would visit soon, Charlotte and Anthony were off.
