Ben began placing his personal items one by one into a cardboard box. Sanda watched her supervisor with a bitter feeling.
"Let me help you pack, sir," Sanda said sadly. Ben smiled and shook his head.
"It's fine. I don't have much," Ben replied lightheartedly.
He had just submitted his resignation and received immediate approval from Jerry, relayed directly through Kenny. While Kenny had tried to persuade Ben to stay, Jerry's attitude was the opposite. He didn't even require a handover period and told Ben to leave immediately.
"I don't need the rest. You can distribute or discard anything left in this office." Ben closed the box, glanced around the room one last time, then shook Sanda's hand.
