Nina arrived at the office and hurried toward the closing elevator doors. Suddenly, they slid open again. She stepped in quickly and smiled at the man who had held them for her.
"Thanks," Nina said briefly before stepping back.
The man smiled and glanced at her a couple of times, but Nina simply looked down, unaware of his interest. She soon got off and half-jogged to swipe her ID badge. No one else was in yet. Eric was in Riverside and wouldn't be back until Wednesday.
Just as Nina powered on her laptop, someone knocked. Ben stood there, smiling.
"Can I come in?" Ben asked gently. Nina stepped out, looking around to confirm they were alone.
"What are you doing here? Someone might see," Nina said flatly.
