Chapter 10: Witch Problems

Justin’s POV

  It’s been two weeks, 14 days since my mate was attacked and she still hasn’t woken up. Ever since the attack I found out that it was in fact Kathrine Smith that attacked her. I still don’t know why and the more that time passes the more I am on edge along with Tanner. I don’t know what I will do it anything happens to her. Dr. Eric said that the blade was in fact silver and that’s why it is taking longer for her to heal and gain consciousness.

  I have done everything I can while Tricia has been in the hospital. Including making sure the pack stays with their schedules and training continues. Taking into consideration that we had already decided that we were going to go ahead and build another pack house so I have some of my pack members that specializes in this type of construction to get the job done while also making sure that both territories stay safe so my patrol guys have been running rounds within both pack lands.

  I don’t want her pack to think that I am going to be permanently taking over so when it comes to making calls on Tricia’s behalf I have let Beta Taylor make those calls. We are coming up on the ceremonies for the next Beta and Gamma to take their place in the pack and I don’t even know how that will go over if Tricia is still out.

  Right now I am sitting in Tricia’s office and going through pack financing within both packs and Beta Taylor is making sure that everything is correct with the Red Moon packs finances. I have them separated but even so there is so much that I don’t quite understand with their finances so some of it has to wait and we have explained it to all the members so they know what is going on and why they have to take it a little easy on the spending.

  Sighing I feel a tug at my mind link that is probably Allen or Kol.

  “What is it?” I growl and then all of the sudden I feel Tanner purr in the back of my mind and this overwhelming feeling of utter adoration and know instantly that it isn’t either one of them.

  “Tricia I am so sorry love. I am in the office putting away papers. Ill be there in just a moment.” I sent to her with tears in my eyes. I look up at Beta Taylor and he already knows what is going on.

  I run out of the office as fast as possible and get to the hospital faster than I did when they told me that she was out of surgery. When I got there I went straight to her room and had to contain Tanner from ripping out the doctors throat when he got close to our mate.

  “Hey there lover boy.” She said with a smile on her face.

  “Hey love, how are you feeling?” I asked as I sat down beside her and began to rub circles on her hand while I held it.

  “I’ve been better. I remember everything that happened.” She stated and I could literally feel the anger rolling off of her.

  “It was my Aunt Kathrine. She said that she was going to make sure to kill me just like she killed our parents. Is that why you left when you saw her name on my mothers file?” She asked and my body tensed slightly.

  “Yes. That’s the exact reason I left. I tried to have one of my trackers work with one of yours to find her but the only scents they were able to pick up was mine and yours.” I told her. I don’t want her to stress so I would rather just tell her the truth.

  “Okay. Thank you for allowing me to know that. I wont pressure you to give me any details but I do want you to know that you are more than welcome to talk to me about it any time you wish.” She said in a calm voice but I know she is still in a whole lot of pain.

  “Well, I want you to know that the only thing that Beta Taylor couldn’t take care of while you’ve been asleep was your finances because neither of us could figure out how you do it and didn’t wanna mess it up.” I informed my mate.

  “Thank you. How long have I been like that anyway?” She asked and I was almost afraid to tell her.

  “You’ve been in that state for about two weeks now.” I said.

  “Wow, so we need to go to my office and go back through my mothers file and try to figure out where she could have gone. I know my mothers parents are gone so she couldn’t have gone to them. I can make you this promise that there is absolutely nothing that will keep me from killing this b***h witch for the both of us.” She said then her eyes clouded over for a moment before the stopped and Beta Taylor walked in.

  “Its nice to see you Taylor. I need you to find me a witch that can teach me and help me discover what my powers are since I am apparently half witch and that’s the big reason as to why my parents were killed by her. Well not directly but she’s the one that sent the rouges after us to begin with.” She told him so he was all caught up.

  “Right away. Is there anything else you need me to do?” He asked.

  “No that’s it. We will be going as soon as Dr. Eric says that I am free to go.” She said.

  There was a knock on the door and I was expecting the doctor but it wasn’t him. It was the Beta’s daughter, Kelsey. She is a blonde with emerald color eyes and she is beautiful. Obviously not as beautiful in my eyes as my mate, but still beautiful none the less. She stands at about 5’8” and from what I understand is my mates best friend.

  “Thank the Goddess that your awake. I’ve missed you. There’s so many things we have to talk about and do. You know my Beta ceremony is coming up.” She said while walking in and hugging my mate.

  “Hey Kels, I missed you to. And I know it is did you really think that I would miss it. Wait would you take the title or would it go to your mate?” She asked.

  “We still haven’t decided if we were staying here because I’ve been wanting to talk to you about this.” Said Tricia.

  “Okay Alpha, I just need you to sign this and then you are free to go. With that being said you are on a weight restriction until you come back to have your stiches removed and I am sending you home with something for pain,” he said before turning to me, “She’s very stubborn so you will need to go ahead and make her take them.” He finished as my mate scoffed.
