Liora’s POV
“You need to make sure Lucien knows that isn’t me,” I said, steadying my voice.
Ava hesitated. “I don’t think he has seen it yet… and honestly, it might be better if he does. He’ll assume you’re an heiress and that you’re doing well.”
I exhaled softly. “Still… do everything you can to make sure he knows the truth… that it’s someone else.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Ava replied.
There was silence.
“Goodnight,” I said, ending the call as I let my phone fall onto the bed.
“What am I supposed to do…?” I whispered, staring at the ceiling. “Keep pretending… or risk everything by telling the truth?”
I shut my eyes, forcing sleep to claim me.
