The board called an emergency meeting.

Ethan held Sophia’s hand the whole drive there.

"You don’t have to do this," Sophia whispered in the car. "You can keep the company."

Ethan looked at her. "I already have everything I want."

Inside, 12 board members stared at them. Mr. Caldwell stood up.

"Mr. Hart. Is this marriage legitimate?"

Ethan stood tall. "Yes. It’s real and true."

He turned to Sophia. His voice went low.

"Six months ago I made a deal out of fear.

Today I’m standing here because I hold you dear."

He didn’t rip the contract. Not this day.

He just looked at her and chose to stay.

"I’m in love with my wife," he said it clear.

The room went silent. You could hear a tear.

Mr. Caldwell cleared his throat with care.

"We’ll discuss this. For now, beware."

Ethan squeezed Sophia’s hand so tight.

This battle wasn’t over. But tonight—

They walked out together, side by side.

At home he cooked for her again.
