I crawled to the door, unable to hold in the tears that dropped from my eyes. I forced my feet back to work and gripped the knob, twisting it open. My heart was already shattered from the beginning till there was no piece left to squash. “Jaden?” I whispered, staggering in. He suddenly stopped ramming into her when he heard my voice and craned his neck back. His eyes widened and he cursed loudly before pulling out of her. Erica screamed and pulled the blanket to her body, flushed in embarrassment. My body heated up in rage as I stared at them with tear-filled eyes. "So, this was it? This was the work you were talking about?" I asked, tilting my head to the side. The redness on Erica's face disappeared, and she stared at me without remorse in her eyes, and the same for Jaden. "You were sleeping with your ex-wife? You should be ashamed!" I screamed and marched closer, unable to suppress my anger. "You don't understand! I've always loved her!" He snapped shamelessly and my feet froze. "What?" I whispered in a trembling voice. Jaden scoffed and pulled on his shorts then got up from the bed and began to approach me. There was not a single guilt in his eyes as he drew closer. "What would a rich kid born with a diamond spoon in her mouth know about true love, huh?" He asked and my throat knotted. His mother's words echoed in my head and my fist clenched. "You are shameless!" I spat in disgust and he chuckled. "Yes, I'm shameless for going back to the woman I love," he replied. My suspicions were right. He only married me because I looked like his ex-wife, he never married me out of love or affection. He wanted me to be Erica, he saw me as Erica for the whole f*****g years we've been together. If there was something he loved about Melissa Williams, it was the money and my influence. It was never about me. I growled in pain and slapped him hard on the cheek. His head was knocked to the side, and the imprints of my fingers appeared on his cheek. "Go on, hit me again. What else can you do aside from that?" He mocked. I raised my hand again to hit him until I was satisfied but Erica grabbed my hand before it could get to his face. "Enough!" She snapped. I swerved my head in her direction, glaring at her. "Get away from me, b***h!" I growled and pushed her roughly. Her feet slipped as she staggered and she fell, crashing into my wardrobe. "Erica!" Jaden growled and before I could react, he slapped me. A loud beep filled my head and my pain washed across my cheek and ear. I staggered back and slammed my eyes shut, my head swirling. Though everything looked blurry, I watched him help her to her feet and then kissed her passionately. I staggered up to my feet and grabbed the vase then rushed towards them blindly. I didn't care about who the vase would hit, I just wanted to see blood flow in the room. "Jaden!" Erica screamed and pushed Jaden away as I threw the vase towards them. The vase smashed into the wardrobe and broke into pieces. I spun around to grab another vase, but Jaden grabbed my arm and pushed me to the wall, then wrapped his hand around my throat. "b***h, how dare you try to kill me?" He groused, applying pressure on my neck I coughed and sank my nails into his wrist, glaring at him and still trying to stay alive. "I promise you, Jaden, I will kill you!" I spat out and choked, slowly losing my breath. Jaden laughed like a maniac and let go of me. I dropped to the ground, coughing and gasping for air while rubbing my reddened neck. "For your old man's sake, I will leave you alive," Jaden said and I scoffed, laughing and crying at the same time. If anyone had told me that this bastard would treat me this way, I would never have believed it. This was who he truly was under the facade. "I hate you!" I growled and he scoffed. "I never loved you either," he chuckled. He bent down and reached out to touch my hair but I slapped his hand away. "Just sign the divorce papers and walk away. I tried hard to love you, but it just wasn't working, and to add to it, you cared less about my kids," he said, and my chest tightened. "Liar! You and that f*****g b***h were the ones who never cared!" I growled, almost choking on my tears. "I don't give a damn. A birth mother will always be the best," he muttered and my stomach knotted. His mother knew about his affair with Erica? I wasn't surprised, though, she had always hated me. "Let's see if the children will choose a nonchalant dog like you over me!" I snapped and sprang up. "I'm not going anywhere without the children," I muttered and his lips turned up. "They are not your children—" "They are! I f*****g raise them, bastard!" I growled, pushing him back. I paused and looked at Erica. "Just wait, I will make you hate those cameras," I said, and turned around to walk away, but paused and turned around. "Don't worry, I will sign the divorce papers and never come back. A dog doesn't deserve the tears of a girl born with a diamond spoon," I said and anger flashed across his eyes. I grabbed the papers from the drawer and descended the stairs, wiping away the tears. The children were all I had left. They were the only ones who would ever care about me. "David?" I paused on the stairs when I saw sitting on the sofa with Mrs Rosalia standing beside the couch. "You were arguing with Daddy? Why?" He asked and my lips slammed shut. "I…" "Are you upset he wants mommy back?" He blurted out, and my breath ceased for a few seconds. "Huh?" "We want mommy!" Betty's little voice filled the room, and I looked up towards the door. I gasped loudly and rushed towards her, grabbing her out of her grandma's hands. I knelt before her and cupped her cheeks "Betty, I am your mommy," she whispered. "No, you're not my mother!" She snapped, and my jaw dropped in shock. I faced Jaden who was standing at the bottom of the stairs with tears gathering in my eyes again. "It's not like she's lying. You're not their mother, just accept that," he smirked, tilting his head to the side. The little courage I had dropped and I pulled away from her. "I am not your mother?" I whispered, filled with pain. "No, she is my mother!" Betty said and I felt my soul leave my body. "Come on, Betty, let's go to our real mom!" David spat and I dropped to the ground. I gasped and clutched my neck, unable to breathe properly. "You heard them now, now sign the papers and free my son!" His mother yelled, tugging roughly on my dress. What could they have done to turn the children against me? What? As I stared at them while they reunited, I realized that I was the loser in the end. I picked up the papers and signed them with trembling hands. As I handed the papers to Mrs Rachel, I swore to make them pay. Every one of them.
