### **Chapter 6 The Escape Plan**
The safehouse was temporary.
Jax knew it. **Sienna knew it.**
Kane wouldn’t stop looking, and staying still meant **waiting for death.**
Jax sat on the edge of the bed, wrapping a torn cloth around his shoulder wound, **knuckles tight, jaw clenched.**
Sienna paced the room, arms crossed, **thinking. Calculating.**
“We need a way out,” she said.
Jax exhaled. “There is no way out.”
Sienna **stopped pacing.**
She turned, eyes **sharp, burning.** “Then we make one.”
Jax studied her.
She **wasn’t breaking.**
She was **fighting.**
And maybe—for the first time—he **realized she wasn’t just caught in his world.**
She **was in this fight with him.**

### **The Plan Comes Together**
They had two options:
1. **Find a new safehouse and keep running**—but eventually, Kane would catch up.
2. **Turn the tables**—end it before Kane decided for them.
Neither choice guaranteed survival.
Jax **rolled his shoulders**, winced at the pain, then looked up.
“Sienna,” he muttered, voice low.
She stepped closer. “Yeah?”
Jax inhaled **slowly.**
“Are you ready to do something reckless?”
Her lips **curved slightly.**
“You mean risk my life?” she murmured. **“Too late for that.”**
Jax smirked.
Then—they move.
Jax had made plenty of calls in his life.
Deals that determined survival. Agreements built on violence. Promises that never lasted.
But this call?
This was the **final one.**
Victor Kane picked up on the second ring.
“You’re finally ready to stop running,” Kane mused, his voice lazy, amused—as if this was some game he knew he was winning. “Wise choice.”
Jax leaned against the kitchen counter, rolling his aching shoulder, staring at the gun in front of him.
“No more games,” he said, voice cold, calculated. “One final deal.”
Silence stretched.
Then—Kane chuckled.
“And if I say no?”
Jax exhaled slowly, fingers tapping against the counter. **Every move measured.**
“Then I stop playing fair.”
Another pause.
Kane hummed, thoughtful, savoring the tension like a predator dragging out the kill.
“I’ll see you soon, Ghost.”
The line went dead.
Jax stared at the phone.
**The trap was set.**
Now—they just had to **survive it.**
---
### **Tension Before the Storm**
Sienna sat on the worn leather couch, knees pulled up, watching Jax carefully.
“You’re sure about this?” she asked.
Jax met her gaze. **“There’s no other way.”**
She inhaled sharply, searching his expression, looking for something—**maybe reassurance, maybe certainty.**
She wouldn’t find it.
Jax wasn’t **sure** of anything.
All he knew was that Kane wasn’t the type to let loose ends live.
And Sienna?
**She was his loose end.**
“I won’t let him touch you,” Jax murmured.
She swallowed hard. “What if it’s not me he wants?”
Jax exhaled, running a hand over his jaw, tension gripping his body.
“Then we make sure I walk out alive.”
Sienna **shook her head.**
“No,” she whispered, voice firm. **“We make sure *we* walk out alive.”**
Jax stared at her.
Then—**he kissed her.**
Slow this time, steady, like the quiet before war.
Because that’s what this was—**a war.**
And it was **starting now.**
---
### **The Meet—Fire in the Dark**
They arrived at the abandoned train yard at midnight.
Jax stepped into the open, gun heavy at his side, **muscles coiled, ready for whatever Kane had planned.**
Sienna stayed close. **Not afraid. Just ready.**
Kane’s black SUV pulled up.
Felix Reyes stepped out first—**smiling like he already had the kill lined up.**
Then—**Kane.**
Still smirking. **Still standing.**
Despite the wound Jax had given him.
“You sure you want to do this, Ghost?” Kane asked, adjusting his cuff. **“I could make things easy for you.”**
Jax smirked. “You don’t do *easy*, Kane.”
Kane chuckled. “That’s true.”
Then—**guns c****d. Safeties clicked.**
It was time.
**One way or another—this ended tonight.**
