Kelly's POV The knock came just as I was standing in front of the fridge pretending that staring at it long enough would magically produce dinner. I had already opened and closed it twice. The light hummed softly. Inside there was a half carton of eggs, a container of leftovers I no longer trusted, a bottle of water and a jar of something that might once have been sauce.
