The frigid air bit into my bones, Canada taking its bittersweet vengeance one gust of wind at a time. Smoke billowed from the chimney, the cabin inviting me inside with open, welcoming arms. I couldn't move. My cabin, my home, my past, the life I lived before Anthony existed; it was right in front of me and I couldn't face it. Behind me, the snow crunched beneath Memphis's feet. "You know, I still think about the last time you were here." "You stayed." Coming to a stop beside me, he nodded. "I did. I couldn't bring myself to let the place go."
