Sooooo, the Latins understood it all when they said “mens sana in corpore sano”. In reality the exact phrase is “orandum est ut sit mens sana in corpore sano”. So not just that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body and vice versa, that a healthy body means a healthy mind, but more precisely, “let us pray that we may have a healthy mind in a healthy body”. Because Juvenal knew that is what we should aspire to in order to be happy. The Latin didn’t just talk for the sake of talking!
