Chapter 7Renée had hoped she would never have to come to the archives again, except when called to look something up. Agent Tavery had sent her here, saying she needed to finish what she’d started, although she’d still be working for him.
She most certainly did not want to spend what she imagined to be the next year splitting her time between the Department of Dragons and the archives. She wanted to be completely in her new position.
When she entered the cavernous space that held so many books, she was greeted by Jenny and Mrs. Partridge. Surprised to see Jenny, Renée blurted, “What’s going on?”
“You have a task to finish,” Mrs. Partridge told her. “Procreation is a sensitive subject, if an arduous one to research, and you’re going to complete your work.”
