“What do you mean, ‘missing’?” Selene demanded.
“He was doing a border check around the Forest village and the wolves lost him. His scent and everything vanished,” Ethan said grimly.
“The vampires?” Selene panicked, but Ethan shook his head.
“No, Selene. There was no vamp scent. He attacked them with shadows before vanishing into thin air,” he said somberly, and just like that, she knew her brother had no chance left.
She couldn’t save him. Link or no link, he had ruined everything.
“He’s the one taking the villagers, isn’t he?” she whispered, her voice trembling, her eyes filling with tears as she came to the only conclusion left.
They were going to kill him.
“We have to go out there,” Zach growled, his claws and fangs extending as Selene wiped her tears away and pulled on a cloak.
