Arc had decided that if Darcy kept avoiding him, he would simply chase her everywhere. From the classroom to the library, even to the garden, he was relentless. Darcy, on the other hand, was growing more and more exasperated. --- Arc leaned closer to her desk, whispering. “Darcy, bakit lagi kang umiwas? I’m your deskmate, you can’t escape me.” Darcy sighed, flipping her notebook. “Arc, you’re too noisy. I just want peace.” Arc grinned. “Peace? With me around? Impossible. Admit it, you like my company.” Darcy shot him a glare. “Like? Ha! You’re the most annoying person I’ve met.” Arc chuckled. “Annoying but unforgettable, right?” Darcy muttered under her breath. “Unforgettable headache, maybe.” Arc tapped her pen. “Still, you remember me. That’s progress.” Darcy shook her head. “Arc, please. Stop pestering me.” Arc leaned back, smiling. “Never. I’ll keep asking—what’s your favorite food? Favorite color? Favorite book?” Darcy snapped her notebook shut. “Favorite silence. Can you give me that?” Arc laughed. “Silence? With me? Sorry, sold out.” Darcy pouted. “Nakakainis ka talaga, wala ka bang ibang tao na maisip na sirain ang araw?! .” Arc softened his tone. “Ohhh, you're cute when your angry Miss.” Darcy turned away. “Arc! tumigil ka nga! ” Arc raised his hands in surrender. “Okay, okay. But admit it… you’d miss me if I stopped.” Darcy sighed, turning her chair. “You’re impossible! ang gulo mo lumayas ka nga sa harap ko! ” Arc whispered. “And still unforgettable.” --- Later in the library, Arc slid into the chair beside her. “Darcy, bakit ang dami mong notes? Ang sipag mo.” Darcy didn’t look up. “Kasi unlike you, I actually listen to the professor.” Arc leaned closer. “I listen… to you.” Darcy frowned. “Arc, focus!” Arc smirked. “I am focused. On you.” Darcy rolled her eyes. “You’re hopeless.” Arc whispered. “Hopelessly fond of you.” Darcy shook her head and on guard to her vow. “Fond? Arc, stop saying things like that.” Arc tilted his head. “Why? It’s true.” Darcy muttered. “You’re making me uncomfortable.” Arc grinned. “Then I’ll make you comfortable… with jokes.” Darcy snapped. “No jokes, please.” Arc leaned in. “Knock knock.” Darcy slammed her book shut. “Arc!” Arc laughed. “Okay, fine. But you smiled.” Darcy shook her head. “I didn’t.” Arc teased. “You did. And it was beautiful.” Darcy muttered and irritated. “You’re impossible, and chaos attractors why I would smile for you” Arc winked. “But you’re smiling now.” --- Walking down the hallway, Darcy tried to outpace him, but Arc matched her stride. “Wala kana bang ibang kayang gawin kundi sirain ang araw ko?!.” Darcy kept her eyes forward motionless. “I just want to be near you, look gusto ko lang maging ka close ka.” he said while grinning to her. Darcy scoffed and serious. “Arc, stop saying nonsense, I don't like people who love forcing their self just to be accepted!” Arc shook his head. “It’s not nonsense. It’s the truth, and im not forcing you..okayyy” Darcy muttered. “Truth? You don’t even know me.” Arc leaned closer. “Then let me know you.” Darcy stopped walking. “Arc…I don't need you, kaya kong mag isa, I'm used to it! ” Arc smiled softly and stop for a while. “Darcy.” Darcy crossed her arms. “You’re impossible.” Arc whispered. “And you’re unforgettable.” Darcy groaned. “Stop repeating that.” Arc shrugged. “I’ll repeat it until you believe it.” Darcy muttered. “Arc, you’re stubborn.” Arc grinned. “Stubborn for you.” --- In the library again, Darcy reached for a book, but Arc grabbed it first. “Darcy, bakit ang ganda ng handwriting mo?” Darcy snatched the book back. “Because I practice.” Arc leaned closer. “Teach me.” Darcy shook her head. “No. You’ll just joke around, sasayangin mo lang ang oras ko. " Arc raised a hand. “Promise, I’ll be serious.” Darcy frowned. “Arc, you’re never serious, you love playing around.” Arc whispered. “I’m serious… about you.” Darcy snapped. “Arc!” Arc grinned. “Darcy!” Darcy muttered. “You’re hopeless.” Arc teased. “Hopelessly yours.” Darcy turned away. “Stop it.” Arc leaned back. “I can’t.” Darcy asked. “Why not?” Arc smiled. “Because I like seeing you annoyed. You’re cute.” Darcy became irritated. “Nakakainis ka talaga.” Arc chuckled. "And yet… you’re still talking to me.” Darcy sighed. “Because you won’t stop.” Arc winked. “Exactly.” --- Outside the classroom, Darcy tried to leave quickly, but Arc caught up. “Darcy, sabay na tayo pauwi.” Darcy shook her head. “No. People will stare, tsaka bakit ka maglalakad eh may sasakyan ka diba?!” Arc shrugged. “Let them. I’ll stare at you.” Darcy groaned. “Arc, you’re embarrassing.” Arc smiled. “Embarrassingly honest.” Darcy muttered and walked fast. “Arc, please, layuan mo ako okayy...” Arc teased. “Darcy, please wait for me.” Darcy snapped. “You’re impossible.” Arc whispered. “And unforgettable.” Darcy turned. “Arc! lumayo ka sa akin sinasabi ko sayo, umuwi ka mag isa mo!... Celestine sabay na tayo!” Celestine stared at the two who looks like having a race at the Hall of the classrooms. What happened to you two? she asked seriously. Let's go, hayaan mo na yang asungot na yan Celestine, baka maka attract tayo nang gulo na nman dito, bilisan mo!" Darcy said hastily while holding the hands of Celestine. Arc grinned. “Darcy! intayin nyo ako! ” Darcy shouted. “You’re ridiculous.” Arc softened. “Ridiculously happy because you're cute.” --- Finally, Darcy stopped, turning to face him with frustration. “Arc, bakit ba hindi ka tumigil?” Arc smiled. “Because if I stop, you’ll miss me.” Darcy shook her head. “I won't you're assuming” Arc leaned closer. “You will.” Darcy muttered. “Arc, you’re too much.” Arc shrugged. “Too much… but never enough for you.” Darcy sighed. “Arc, you’re exhausting.” Arc smiled. “But worth it.” Darcy shook her head. “No.” Arc teased. “Yes.” Darcy snapped. “Arc!” Arc grinned. “Darcy!” Darcy sighed, shaking her head. “You’re impossible.” Arc whispered. “And unforgettable.” --- Darcy walked away, muttering under her breath, but Arc followed, smiling. Their banter echoed through the halls, half annoyance, half sweetness a rhythm only they seemed to understand.
