Chapter FiveTwelve-year-old Jason tossed his long red hair on a wrinkled pillow and moaned in his sleep. He was having a bad dream. Boa constrictors were twisting from the sheets to squeeze his chest. He'd been playing Guitar Mozart the night before and had eaten a lot of salted chips. He'd washed them down with Purple Pony sports drink. The chips and drink might have given him bad dreams, but more likely it was the talk he'd had with his parents just before going to bed. He moaned again. He hated snakes. He felt smothered by the snakes and smothered by his parents. Odd he hadn't dreamed of the bees and wasps. But Jason was different than most boys, with faith in science to protect Earth. “Go away.” He opened his green eyes. “You're choking me. Go away!” Lights burned from the LCD displ
