At first I froze, not sure what to do next, but he took the lead. He tilted my head as he buried his left hand in my hair. I felt his tongue graze along my lips as the angle changed. He teased the seam of my lips with his tongue, and I gasped, which allowed his tongue to slit into my mouth.
He thrust his tongue into my mouth and knew what people meant when they used the term tonsil hockey. Man, I couldn't get enough of him. His taste was intoxicating to me as a strange noise left my throat. That's when the kiss turned from seduction to animalistic. He sucked on my tongue and pulled on my lower lip slightly with his teeth. As he continued to ravage me with his mouth, I noticed a dampness between my legs. Butterflies take flight, and all I wanted to do was strip him from his clothes and jump him right there.
He pulled me closer to him as his right hand grasped my waist. I dropped the flashlight I had been holding as he shifted me between his legs. My left arm wound around his shoulders as he broke the kiss and left a trail down the side of my face to my neck. Another moan left me as I tilted my head, giving him better access, and I felt him suck my ear between his lips.
One minute he was sitting on my bumper and I was between his legs, the next my back was against the wall. I didn't even feel him move, or even me move, for that matter. He takes my lips captive again with his own, as I feel something hard between us. His hands and my hands began to explore each other.
I felt him shift, which brought him even closer, though that was impossible because there was no room left between us.
At that moment, the garage door opened and he sprung away from me as if he'd gotten burned. It made me so confused.
Thank God, I had pulled the car in, because if I hadn't, Anna would have caught us making out like two horny teenagers. (Pun intended.)
I laugh to myself as I think about the look she gave us.
I feel her hand on my arm and she brings me to a stop, pulling me out of my revelry.
"Hey, where did you go? I've been trying to get your attention for a few minutes now," Anna says with concern.
It's not like I can tell her what I was actually thinking about. But I think fast as the thundering of the falls reaches my ears.
"Sorry, I just got lost in my own head." I stated.
"Well, you can talk to me about anything. Especially if it's about your dad and this whole college thing," Anna says as she squeezes my hand.
"I know, thank you." I give her a smile as she nods her head and leads us the rest of the way.
We reach the falls and its beautiful. The flowering vines that lined the falls were magnificent. The colors and the different types of flowers had an exotic feel to it, besides the aroma from all the different plants.
Anna led us over to a rock outcropping where we could put our feet into the water.
I took in the sight around us as the clouds shifted and allowed a rainbow to appear in the spray of the falls. Anna pulls out her phone and plays some music as she starts digging around in one of the bags. She hands me a soda and a bag of chips and we both start enjoying our snacks at one of our favorite places.
"You know Michael has been acting strangely lately. He doesn't want to hang out anymore," Anna states sadly.
I've noticed and ever since we kissed he's been avoiding me. I don't know if he regrets it, or is embarrassed about it. To be honest, I wish I knew how he felt.
So, since I can't tell her the truth, I lie through my teeth. "It's probably everything we've been dealing with, it's been a lot of stress."
"Yeah, you're probably right. Oh, my dad is sending me to my Aunt Maggie's for the summer." Anna says.
"What!?"
"Yeah, he informed me this morning I'm leaving tomorrow."
"Wow, that's so not fair." I exclaim.
She nods her head as we fall into silence. I'm not sure how long we sat there before the music stopped and her ringtone sounded. I saw tears slip down her cheeks as she answered. I got everything together as she nodded toward the path.
From what I heard, it was her mom. I tried not to listen in as we walked back to the car. I heard a whimper and I stopped and looked around. I didn't see anything. I was about to start walking when I heard it again. Immediately, I went in search of the sound. Anna yelled for me to come back as I scoured the area, for what I heard.
I came to a stop at the top of an embankment where I saw a brown bag that seemed to be moving and it was tied shut. I didn't wait. I half slid, half fell down the slope in my haste to get to the bag.
I untied it and I found a tiny puppy whimpering in the corner of the bag. My blood began to boil as I looked around for any sign that someone had been there. Anna stumbled to my side as I slowly put my hand in the bag. The grey and white puppy tried to scramble away from me but it couldn't go anywhere in the bag.
When I finally got my hand around the puppy, it started screaming, so I left it and just picked up the bag and cradled it in my arms.
"I hate people who do this," Anna says as we work our way back up the slope.
"Me too." I said. "Is dinner done?"
"Almost, so we have to head back," Anna says.
"I'll drop you off and then I'm going to get this scared little puppy looked at." She just nods her head as we reached the car.
When we reach Anna's, I get out and give her a hug, and I start to tear up myself. This summer is going to suck without her. We say our goodbyes before I leave and head toward town, as I pull out my phone. I called the vet. I hung up the phone and I found a place to park before heading inside.
