NATALIA Xavier walked me back inside the private wing of the hospital and left after saying our goodbyes. By the time Xavier left, the hallway felt ghostly quiet, too empty. His visit had been a small mercy for my heart. It didn’t entirely erased the pain but it was a good intervention… though the timing and the coincidences almost felt like it wasn’t.
