NATALIA I didn’t even hear the front door close behind me. My feet moved before my thoughts could catch up, and when they did, I just walked faster than I intended. I went past the car, past the sidewalk, and down a narrow road lined with quiet homes at a comfortable distance from one another. A human neighborhood. It’s more peaceful than I thought, but I appreciate it. It’s definitely what I needed after that horrid encounter. What am I even thinking? I just accompanied my husband so he could meet his fated mate, the one he couldn’t resist, no matter how much effort he restrained himself from. The one he’s obviously taken an affection to already. And what? I expect Tristan to see if she’s just alive, and then we’ll be on our merry way? I found myself laughing to myself. I’m so f*****
