NATALIA I returned to our table, walking slower than I should. My steps were quiet, but I knew that he was well aware of me. I wasn’t even fully seated yet when I saw him tense up. His shoulders stiffened as if he was bracing for impact. He probably heard everything, even the conversation with the old lady, and knew the human was right.
