Thomas managed to endure the boisterous welcome he received from Fee’s family at their holding near Wurthingas, where they had settled after fleeing from their native Ireland due to some complicated family feud he didn’t even try to understand.
Fee’s sister Aine and her brother-in-law Abrecan, a sturdy fair-haired Saxon, were the leaders of the holding. They welcomed him with open arms, eager to meet Matthew’s long-lost son.
