Chapter 14

KENZI POV   I decided enough was enough. The day had arrived, and I could not wait another moment to see Cal. I know that sounds crazy, but I felt like I was missing a part of me. I informed my pack that we would be leaving at sunrise to Black Blood Pack.   Here we are standing at their training field watch Cal stop a fight between Emilio, his beta, and his warrior. Emilio looks pissed and is moments from shifting. As Jax and I step out of the car, I immediately make eye contact with Jaxon and he looks happy at once. When my beta rolls his eyes at him.   Cal turns and looks at us and I know immediately that this situation is due to their mate status. Emilio is trying to get Jaxon to accept him but Jax refuses to give him the time of day.   I look over at Jax and he can tell what I am going to say. “Fix this. I better not see either of you until this is squared away.”   “Fine,” He says to be in a short tone. He turns to Emilio and says, “Where can we talk?”   Emilio moves faster than I have ever seen him move. “Yeah, sure, right this way.” As he leads Jax towards the packhouse.   I look back over at Cal. “Do you mind if my pack warrior’s workout with you guys?” I ask.   “Let’s do this, honey.” He says as he swoops me up by the waist. “So normally we split up into three groups and do multiple forms of training over a three-hour period. We do cardio, combat, and stamina. Which group do you want to lead?” He asked me.   “I will take combat!” I announce. “And before you ask, yes I am serious.” I continue with a smirk.   “Oh have fun.” He says with a chuckle.   “Alright, everyone gather around. We are going to divide into three groups. One for cardio, combat, and stamina. I will take stamina, Alpha Kenzi will take combat, and Third Giovanni will take cardio.” Cal announced as the warriors came around us to form a semi-circle.   “I will take you forty on the left.” I waved my hand over to them. Since I traveled in my black leggings, I simply lifted my shirt over my head to reveal my marble stone black and gray sports bra. I turned to Cal to see his pupils dilated. I knew he enjoyed what he saw.   “Alright, I will take these forty” He waved to the right. “You all have been warned, KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OF WHAT’S MINE.” He shouted at the whole group.   We had a very intense workout. Cal pushed his warriors to what seems like their limit but they never broke. I on the other hand attempted to be stricter but kind. I figured out really quick that Cal’s men were going to test me. My warriors were ready to step in and defend me but I shot them all down. I also looked over to Cal and noticed he was also becoming upset. I waved him off and let him know I could handle it.   One of his biggest warriors, Lex, decided he had had enough of my gentle combat training and needed more.   “When are we going to stop all of these fancy old people that Chi whatever you call it and get to real combat?” Lex says as he throws his hands up.   “Lex it is called Tai Chi—which literally translates supreme ultimate fist. It was what was known as the original kung fu.” I say to him trying not to lose my cool. He finally pissed me off when he rolled his eye. “Fine, I challenge you to a friendly sparring match where I will only use tai chi moves. What do you say?”   He immediately looks over to Cal for approval. “No sir, this ass whipping is on you. It's up to you to decide if you want it.” I interrupt his look at Cal   “Challenge accepted.”   “Cal, would you be a dear and call this sparring for us?” I shout over my shoulder.   “Sure honey.” He speaks. “Now this will be a clean fight. No low blows, no shifting, and no going for the kill. Is that understood?” Cal says to Lex.   “Yes, Alpha,” Lex replies.   We move to the center of the sparring circle and get into position. Lex choices a low running position which tells me he will run and attack as soon as we start. I on the other hand by getting into one of the most common tai chi moves.   “This stance is called Part the Wild Horse’s Mane. I will go slowly to show you exactly how it works.” I get in position and go low in order to be in a fully defensive stance.   “Begin!” Cal shouts and Lex suddenly comes running at me. He did exactly what I anticipated him to do. I dodge his attack and deflect my using my hands in motion while pushing my weight into his side and knocking him over.   “You showed me exactly how you were going to attack. Try to be less predictable.” I say to him.   He promptly gets to his feet and charges at me again. This time I use the golden rooster stands on one leg to balance myself. When he is close enough, I throw a front kick at his center mass. “That move is called the golden rooster stands on one leg,” I tell him as I see that I have knocked the wind out of him.   Getting back up, he charges me again and immediately starts throwing punches at me. They are loose and sloppy. I can tell how he is fighting out of anger and shame.   “This move I am using now to deflect your hits is called repulse the monkey. It is easy in this in this move to be on the defense and the offense and your challenger won’t even notice it.” I say as I use my right leg to hook his left leg in which I push my weight over onto him. He easily loses his balance in which I see as my opportunity to attack. I straddle him and go on the attack of his upper torso and face. Once he has had enough. I stand off of him.   “Take this as a lesson that you never underestimate any form of fighting. Just because it is different, does not make it less dangerous.” I reach out my hand to help Lex up. “Nice fighting. I would love to fight with you again. I see you have a few moves I do not know.”   “Thank you, Alpha. You are truly a great competitor.” He shakes my hand.   “Alright everyone, that is enough for today. Hit the showers. We will see you all tonight at the ceremony.” Cal announces as he comes over to stand next to me.   Everyone turns to leave as Cal wraps his hand around my waist pulling my back into his front. “That was beyond hot. I want to take you right now.” He said as he pushes his manhood into me. I can clearly feel how excited he was by the match.   “Well, I have to go and get cleaned up, care to show me to my room?” I say as I turn around and look up into his grey eyes.   “Right this way.” He grabs my hand and leads me off of the training field towards the packhouse.
