Kenzi POV
It had been over a month since I rejected Calcipher. I was sitting in my office working when I am hit with pain deep in my chest. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what was happening. I have been feeling this pain regularly. I knew he hadn’t changed and although I wasn’t it to be real, deep down something told me it would not be that easy.
My body had become accustomed to the pain. I have learned to work through the pain without focusing on it. I close my eyes and try to slow my breathing to eat through the pain. I felt like I had been sitting in the same spots for hours before I heard a knock at the door.
“Yea, come in.” I try to hold my composure together in order to not cause alarm to whoever is at the door.
